Veterinary Surgeon - Full or Part Time - Waterlooville Vets4Pets

Waterlooville Vets4Pets is looking for a veterinary surgeon to help us continue to deliver the highest standard of care in the business. This position is for a full-time vet, but we’re more than happy to discuss a part-time position. And if you apply directly, we’ll offer you a £2000 signing on bonus to welcome you into our practice.
We’re looking for a veterinary surgeon, ideally with surgical bias, that is confident with all routine soft tissue surgery, but as well with the day-to-day consult cases and, for the right candidate, there is a potential partnership opportunity.
You’ll be joining a team of 2 Vets with extensive experience, 4 RVNs, 1 VCA and a wonderful team of receptionists. Working within our practice will offer you a wide and varied caseload with plenty of opportunity for surgery, work up your medical cases and advance your career. Waterlooville Vets4Pets is a RCVS accredited purpose-built practice with 3 consult rooms, a spacious theatre and separate dental & X-ray room, an in-house lab and ultrasound.
Based inside a thriving Pets at Home store in the charming town of Waterlooville, Hampshire, you will work within touching distance of the beach and the South Downs. You will also benefit from easy transport links to London and be within 10 miles of Portsmouth. Our clients are lovely, and we have a high percentage of insured patients, which makes working up your cases much simpler.
Our team comes first. Having that in mind we’re looking for a full-time vet, but if you only want to work part-time you’re also welcome. We want to help you get a good work—life balance so we don’t open on Sundays. You’ll have ops days and consult days, no out of hours (OOH) and only some sole charge. The full-time rota is an average of 40 hours a week, on a 4 day/week, giving you a weekday off, and only 1:3 Saturdays. To top all of that, every few consults, we have an empty slot for you to catch up!

Benefits we offer:
     Salary between £40k - £55k (pro rata)
£2000 Signing on bonus (direct candidates only)
     Potential partnership opportunities
5.6 weeks holiday including bank holidays, and after 2 years you get an extra week
     Birthday leave
£1500 CPD allowance with 5 days CPD leave
     Support for certificate
     No Sundays
     No OOH
Paid professional memberships (MRCVS, VDA, BVA)
     Exclusive company discounts and rewards
     Contributory Pension

Locally owned practices with a world of support

At Vets for Pets we’re a network of practices that are owned and managed by the practice owners that run them. Because they’re locally owned, each practice has the freedom to serve patients and clients the way it thinks is best.

But crucially, being locally-owned also means enjoying a truly team-spirited atmosphere. We want all our colleagues to build lasting relationships with practice owners and team members as well as patients and clients.

And because we’re also part of a wider group, you’ll get all the support you need when you need it. That means state-of-the-art facilities, high quality CPD, financial stability and a real sense of job security.

With our framework, we’ve made it simpler and easier for you to help patients and clients live happier, healthier lives together. It’s about making the most of your expertise and bringing this to life in practise while being safe in the knowledge that you’re looked after too. Simply put, we offer locally owned practices with a world of support.

Flexibility & Wellbeing
You tell us which hours you want to work, and we’ll do everything we can to make it happen. With us, you could enjoy a better work-life balance where flexibility and wellbeing come first.

Training & Development
We offer great training programmes, plus fully funded CPD, leadership courses and access to our group’s learning curriculum. We’ll also support you if you’re interested in owning a practice. With our wealth of resources, it’s easy to build your skills and develop your career.

Local Practices
With us, no two practices are the same. We’re deeply rooted in our local communities and we want you to really get to know your patients and clients locally.

Being part of the Pets At Home Group
Being part of Vets for Pets means you’ll be part of our network of locally owned practices. Our practices are located across the country and are owned and run by our Joint Venture Partners (JVPs). Our Joint Venture Partnership model is unique and gives everyone the best of both worlds. Working within one of our practices you’ll get to work with the JVP who has the clinical freedom and autonomy to do things their own way.

As we’re part of a large respected organisation you’ll also enjoy the benefits of being part of a wider PLC Group. This means we can give you greater stability and job security during these uncertain times and beyond.

What’s more, we’ve worked hard to make sure everyone in our group can take part in a fun, friendly, professional and inclusive culture that allows you to bring your whole self to work and be at your very best.
