Job Details

We are looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly team at Handforth Vets4Pets!

A 360 approach to pet care

Our Handforth Vets4Pets practice opened in the spring of 2021 as part of an inspirational new way of working within our £1.1 million Pets at Home "store of the future". Handforth Vets4Pets is at the forefront of providing pet care, encompassing a 360 approach by working alongside store and grooming colleagues to provide gold standard care to clients and their pets. As part of The Pets at Home Vet Group, you will benefit from an excellent CPD allowance, company discounts, competitive salary and much more.

We are currently a 2 vet practice looking for an additional vet to join the team to help with the expansion of our client base. In addition to the 2 vets, you will be joining a team of RVN’s, VCA’s and non-clinical support colleagues who go above and beyond to allow you to focus on the role of a vet.

As Handforth Vets4Pets is a new practice, it is fitted with a high calibre of equipment, including Dental X-Ray, Laparoscopic Surgical Kit, Video Otoscope and Microscope and a double surgical theatre, leading to a variety of cases!

In your role
Your excellent teamwork and passion for caring for your communities' pets means you will be in the heart of the action. Working with store colleagues to ensure your client's needs are met from a pet care side, to working with veterinary colleagues to provide first class healthcare, your day is never dull. Part of this will be engaging with colleagues in store and in practice to help make this a pet care destination of choice.

This role is a full-time position working 40 hours per week including limited weekend cover on a rota basis, and no OOHs. Although we are preferably looking for a full time Vet, we are open to part time hours for the right candidate. We pride ourselves on team wellbeing and therefore make sure to have protected breaks throughout the shifts.

About You
You will be a Veterinary Surgeon looking to join an enthusiastic and friendly team. You have great communication and organisation skills, take pride in working to a high standard and enjoy working with others in different roles.

The role can be a part or full time position, and/or consult only too!

Benefits
As part of the package, you will be entitled to the below benefits:
•    Competitive salary based on your experience, up to £65k for certificate holder
•    Contributory pension scheme
•    Private Healthcare
•    Income protections and death in service of 4x salary
•    Full funding of certificate
•    Paid memberships and CPD budget with paid time for attendance
•    Access to the reward hub with discounts on a variety of different companies
•    20% discount in Vets4Pets, Pets at Home and the Groom Room

If you share our passion for delivering outstanding pet healthcare and great customer service, then we would love to hear from you!

Locally owned practices with a world of support

At Vets for Pets we’re a network of practices that are owned and managed by the practice owners that run them. Because they’re locally owned, each practice has the freedom to serve patients and clients the way it thinks is best.

But crucially, being locally-owned also means enjoying a truly team-spirited atmosphere. We want all our colleagues to build lasting relationships with practice owners and team members as well as patients and clients.

And because we’re also part of a wider group, you’ll get all the support you need when you need it. That means state-of-the-art facilities, high quality CPD, financial stability and a real sense of job security.

With our framework, we’ve made it simpler and easier for you to help patients and clients live happier, healthier lives together. It’s about making the most of your expertise and bringing this to life in practise while being safe in the knowledge that you’re looked after too. Simply put, we offer locally owned practices with a world of support.

Flexibility & Wellbeing
You tell us which hours you want to work, and we’ll do everything we can to make it happen. With us, you could enjoy a better work-life balance where flexibility and wellbeing come first.

Training & Development
We offer great training programmes, plus fully funded CPD, leadership courses and access to our group’s learning curriculum. We’ll also support you if you’re interested in owning a practice. With our wealth of resources, it’s easy to build your skills and develop your career.

Local Practices
With us, no two practices are the same. We’re deeply rooted in our local communities and we want you to really get to know your patients and clients locally.

Being part of the Pets At Home Group
Being part of Vets for Pets means you’ll be part of our network of locally owned practices. Our practices are located across the country and are owned and run by our Joint Venture Partners (JVPs). Our Joint Venture Partnership model is unique and gives everyone the best of both worlds. Working within one of our practices you’ll get to work with the JVP who has the clinical freedom and autonomy to do things their own way.

As we’re part of a large respected organisation you’ll also enjoy the benefits of being part of a wider PLC Group. This means we can give you greater stability and job security during these uncertain times and beyond.

What’s more, we’ve worked hard to make sure everyone in our group can take part in a fun, friendly, professional and inclusive culture that allows you to bring your whole self to work and be at your very best.
