Registered Veterinary Nurse

The Role

De Montfort Veterinary Hospital are looking for a registered veterinary nurse to join their skilled team. Ideally, you will have experience in all areas of general nursing such as anaesthesia monitoring, handling/restraining patients, taking blood samples, administering medication, IV catheter care, placing IV catheters and carrying out nurse consultations. However, we will happily consider recent graduates as our fantastic team will be able to provide ample support.

Shifts will total 40 hours per week, where you will cover all aspects of nursing including inpatient care, anaesthesia, theatre nursing, nurse clinics, radiography, lab work and reception. You will also take part in the weekend rota. Emergency out-of-hours care is provided by VetsNow, but you will be required to join the overnight inpatient care rota (additional remuneration paid)

The salary for this role is up to £26,000 depending on experience. 

About Us

We have been offering first opinion services to the pets of Worcestershire for over 60 years and are proud of our hospital status and our high standards of care.
We are an approved centre for vet nurse training and hold an ISFM cat-friendly clinic (gold award) and an RWAF clinic (silver award). We have all the usual up-to-date toys: digital x-ray, dental x-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy and Idexx analysers and are visited weekly by a diagnostic imaging specialist.

About the Team and Culture

We have a motivated 12-nurse team, 8 being qualified, registered veterinary nurses. We want our nurses to feel valued and give them the freedom to make decisions and share ideas, bringing their nursing knowledge and experience to the team. We encourage individuals to find and develop their areas of interest, for example, we have an ISFM feline specialist nurse and 5 Clinical coaches. There are many opportunities in which to become involved!
We have an experienced team of dedicated and caring Vets, an enthusiastic practice manager and wonderful administrative staff who provide excellent support. We are a very family-friendly team in a happy, positive, and supportive workplace.

Applicant Requirements 

You must be a motivated and enthusiastic individual with a strong work ethic and sense of humour. Above all, you must be reliable and a true team player. A love of baking is advantageous but not essential.
