The Role

We have a new opportunity for a Senior Vet to join our team, with the support of our clinic Hub Manager and fellow Senior Vet you will work together to lead and develop our clinical team to provide gold standard service and efficiently manage the day-to-day workflow through our practices at Stapenhill and Stretton and Hilton. As a senior clinician you will be responsible for all aspects of clinical governance, day to day leadership and clinical direction of the team and creating a forward thinking and motivated atmosphere. You will enjoy a challenge, and lead by example.

The role will include:

  • Development of clinical and non-clinical skills within the team
  • Liaison with main hospital to help improve communications between clinical teams
  • Managing client complaints when required
  • Clinical governance
  • Managing day to-day-workflow alongside the Hub Manager
  • Take an active role in helping the practice to achieve its financial targets

Following a period of change with the teams at Scarsdale we are looking for someone who thrives on driving a business forward and wants to play an active part in our success. Previous experience of coaching and leading a team will be key to this role.

You will have a varied caseload and there will be opportunities within this role to spend some time at our central hospital, Pride Veterinary Centre, where you will gain more knowledge and experience working alongside our highly qualified team of first opinion and referral vets.

  • This is a full-time role, 38 hours over 4 days.
  • A salary of £55,000+  depending on experience, plus benefits
  • As we have a dedicated night team at our central hospital there are no out-of-hours required.

We are RCVS accredited for small animal general practice. We proactively run many clinics such as weight clinic, puppy and kitten development and positive practice visit all contributing to the delivery of outstanding healthcare to our friendly client base. Stapenhill is an ISFM silver cat friendly practice.

Our practice sites all work closely in small groups to provide a great service to our clients. The Stapenhill practice links with our sites in Stretton and Hilton to ensure that our services are efficient and offer value for money. The modern equipment at Stapenhill and Stretton practices include digital x-ray, ultrasound, and dental x-ray. We have two operating theatres plus three consulting rooms so therefore provide an all-round service.

Applicant Requirements

The ideal applicant will have a depth of experience and knowledge within first opinion practice. You will have proven experience in leadership, including performance management, appraisals, training, and skills development. Alongside this mentoring and coaching experience would be beneficial as well as the strong ability to engage with clients and progress the practice offering.
