The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an equine and small animal veterinary surgeon to join our friendly and supportive team here at Pool Farm Vets!
We are looking for a vet who enjoys a small amount of equine work alongside a busy small animal practice. The role can be flexible for the right candidate but ideally someone willing to work between 20 and 40 hours per week.
We only provide emergency cover for horses as Vets Now cover small animals. Weekends and weeknights are shared equally normally a 1 in 4 rota. Salary for the role is up to £45,000 depending on experience.
About Us
Our vacancy has arisen as one of our vets wants to reduce her hours as she is moving house to be closer to her fiancé.
We have a lovely, friendly, close-knit team of 3 reception ladies, 2 SVN's, 4 RVN's and 6 vets. We are based in a very rural village called Betley which is on the Staffordshire, Cheshire, and Shropshire border. The village has brilliant train links being only 10 minutes from Crewe station which means less than 2 hours to London and 3 hours 30 to Edinburgh.
We have all the equipment you would need and expect and probably more besides along with mobile equipment for the horses.
About the Team and Culture
We have 2 certificate holders in the practice and so clinical work is performed to a high standard.
We actively encourage CPD to continue this high standard.
Pool Farm has a very loyal and pleasant client base with many clients having been with us for nearly 20 years.
We hold a pet show (with an external judge!) at Betley show each August and we have a heavy involvement in the show each year.
Applicant Requirements
We are looking for a confident and friendly individual who can practice medicine to a high standard. You should have good communication skills. Experience would be ideal but not essential for our role.
