The Role

Lawrie Vets, Cumbernauld is looking for a registered veterinary nurse to join our team. Working on various caseloads including assisting veterinary surgeons with procedures, medical nursing of our varied caseload, laboratory work, nurse consultations and anaesthesia management. Our clients are predominately small animal, but we also have some exotic species so experience within this field would be desirable but not essential as full training and support can be provided. Our nurses also play a vital role in preventative and holistic healthcare for our patients through their daily RVN clinics.

Working up to 40 hours per week – part time can also be considered

1:6 weekends which consists of Saturdays 8am-1pm & Sunday 8am-11am

No out-of-hours

Up to £28,000 negotiable depending on experience

About Us

Lawrie Vets is a busy 1st opinion and exotic pet referral practice, dedicated to providing excellent veterinary care to all creatures great and small, (furred, feathered and scaled!) with branches in Falkirk and Cumbernauld. We are a fully equipped vet practice including radiography and endoscopy and we are able to hospitalise and treat all exotic pets. Ideal transport links as central location, generous onsite parking. We have six full-time Veterinary Surgeons, 7 full-time Registered Veterinary Nurses and 4 members who make up our administration team. Two of our vets hold certificates in exotic medicine and three of our nurses currently hold certificates in nursing exotic species. More of our nurses hold various certificates in dog behaviour, cat behaviour and bereavement counselling. We encourage and fund CPD to allow our team to develop and grow.

Applicant Requirements

Must be on the RCVS register, ideally you will be an experienced veterinary nurse. Experience/Interest in exotics pets is preferred.
