Veterinary Surgeon - Maternity Cover

The Role

Thurston Veterinary Centre are looking for an experienced Vet to join their friendly team on a fixed maternity cover contract. You will be confident working a mix of consults along & all routine surgeries along with having an interest in providing support to the less experienced vets within the team.

The shift pattern for this role is 3x 8 hour days, £40 per hour. This will be working between the hours of 8:45 am till 6:45 pm. There is no out of hours requirement, and no weekend work. Accommodation can be provided if required. 

About Us

We are a rural practice split across two sites, we are situated between Stowmarket and Bury St Edmunds, with good links to larger cities of Cambridge and London. Our practice is kitted out with all the routine toys and are currently upgrading several areas. We pride ourselves on being a welcoming team that believes everyone has an important role to play and we enjoy seeing everyone succeed.

About the Team and Culture

Our current team is made up of 2.6 FTE experienced vets, 1 second-year graduate and 2 first-year graduates. We have 4 registered veterinary nurses, 3 student veterinary nurses and several experienced support staff. Each of the more experienced vets have special interests in different areas and several are certificate holders, we also work with visiting specialists to offer orthopaedic and more complex soft tissue surgeries in house.

Applicant Requirements

We would love an experienced vet who is comfortable with working in a busy practice and able to support the development of those less experienced.
