Do you want to work in a practice that is equipped with their own gym, a four-day working week and the opportunity to develop your skills in a first opinion practice with onsite referral hospital?
We are a family run, independent practice set up by Angela & Richard in 1967, who have not only built the business up to the RCVS outstanding hospital status it now holds but they also gave the practice their names, hence the name ‘Anrich’. With Richard as Clinical Director and their son, James, as Managing Director the practice is run with a culture of support and communication (like our daily rounds where we all get together to discuss and plan the day) and the staff have become an extension of the family.
Our facilities are outstanding and consist of MRI, CT, colour doppler ultrasound, video endoscopy, 3 theatres and DR x-ray suite just to name a few. But this is just window dressing without our fantastic, cheerful team of seven vets, twelve RVNs and four receptionists that use their experience and knowledge to work towards the best possible outcome for the patient but at costs that are accessible for most clients. This is what makes us different to most referral centres and there are not many places out there like us, which is one of the many reasons we have such fabulous reviews.
We are looking for a first opinion vet with some experience and a desire to progress and develop their skills, who is willing to go the extra mile to ensure strong client-practice relationships are maintained. With the support of our experienced vet team who are nearing completion of their certificates ; Emily and Adam in Surgery, Dermatology (Viorela) and Diagnostic Imaging (Artur), as well as the state-of-the-art facilities and equipment, you will have the opportunity to work up cases from first opinion to referral stage with continuity of care without the need for referral elsewhere. This provides you the satisfaction of seeing each case from beginning to end.
Our full-time vets work a four-day week (9am-6pm) with 1:7 Saturdays (9am-12pm), which rather than being booked up with routine appointments are kept for discharging your cases from that week or emergencies only. When you have worked a Saturday, we will schedule your following two days off on the Friday and Monday to give you a lovely long four-day weekend. Our out-of-hours are outsourced to Vets Now and our dedicated night vet, David, looks after the in-patients. Our staff also have access to a private onsite gym, which provided much needed relief during those difficult lockdown months.
We are a friendly bunch, who enjoy getting together outside of work. Last year the practice headed off to the races at Haydock and along with our Christmas celebrations and summer BBQ, we try to keep everyone on their toes with our social events, so if you fancy a turn as a human dart we have the giant Velcro dartboard booked ready for you.
The practice is located in the heart of Wigan, within quick walking distance of the train station and there are lots of local attractions to enjoy such as Haigh Woodland Park or a stroll along the canal. Wigan has great transport links being only a ten-minute drive to the M6 and with Manchester or Liverpool 30 minutes away in either direction.
