Smooth the transition to emergency practice with AdvantEdge

Our AdvantEdge programme is a two-week virtual programme designed for experienced small animal, mixed practice and equine Vet Surgeons looking to enhance their emergency and critical care knowledge and skills.

75 hours of CPD delivered by specialists and ECC clinicians

AdvantEdge is delivered by specialists in ECC, Internal Medicine and Surgery as well as experienced ECC clinicians. A surgery practical is included in the programme, alongside CPR, blood smears and ultrasound sessions. The syllabus contains both clinical and non-clinical lectures including but not limited to:

  • Abdo and Thoracic Radiology
  • Adjusting to Night Work
  • Analgesia and CRI’s
  • Blood Gas Analysis
  • Cardiac Emergencies
  • Communication
  • Dyspnoea
  • Fluid Therapy
  • Managing Shock N
  • eurological Emergencies
  • Professional Responsibility
  • Reproductive Emergencies
  • Transfusion Therapy
  • Triage
  • Toxicology

Start dates and rota options to meet your needs

After securing a space on the programme, you can start work in one our clinics at any time. Typically, a full time Vet will work an average of 40 hours per week, no more than three nights a row with a 1:2 weekend commitment, plus a fair share of bank holidays. We also have part time and weekend only options across our network of clinics, ensuring there really is something for everyone.

The next programme will commence on 7 November 2022 and open to Vet Surgeons with a minimum of two years’ experience in small animal or mixed practice.
