A great opportunity has come up for a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join our RCVS accredited 2 site independent first opinion practice on a part/full time basis – we are able to offer flexibility to suit your out of work commitments, otherwise known as life.

The Role

We are looking for someone who is confident with both consults and surgery with strong clinical skills and who is at ease with clients.  Good communication skills are essential!  We have 2 well equipped sites with all the usual toys (in house lab, digital radiography, ultrasound etc.).  The ideal candidate will have at least 1 years’ experience, but we are lucky to have a long established and experienced team so would be able to provide excellent support to the right recent graduate.

Full time hours would be 4.5 days a week, Monday-Friday

No OOH

1 in 5 Saturday mornings (9am-12.30pm)

We are closed on Sundays

About us

We have 2 well equipped sites with a stable and happy team of 6 vets, 9 RVNs/Student RVNs (we’re a training practice) and 3 dedicated reception staff led by our supportive and experienced Practice Owner as Clinical Director. We run extended appointments to allow the vets time to provide the best possible standard of care.  Our client base is loyal and long standing with many having been with us for decades.   Work/life balance is extremely important to us and our aim is for everyone to be home on time.

Established nearly 50 years ago in the east end of Glasgow we have been serving our local community and their pets ever since. 

We have two sites just 15 minutes drive away from each other - Beechwood Veterinary Centre in Baillieston, Glasgow and Low Waters Veterinary Centre in Hamilton. 

We offer extended appointment times to allow the vets time to provide the best possible standard of care.  Facilities within the practices are continually updated and these include: digital radiography, in house laboratory for blood tests, urine samples etc and modern, well-equipped operating theatres.

We care about our clients and treat their pets as we would our own.

Owned and run locally we are proud to say that we are truly independent.
