About Us

The practice was opened By Michael and his team in May 2021.  In the 20 years prior to this he was a partner of a 4 site practice where he was based at the hospital and did the bulk of the surgical work.  He has set up Stroud Road Vets in order to provide a service that prides itself on high quality, personal veterinary care delivered by experienced, friendly staff who have a shared pride in their work. 

We employ 2 RVNs, a trainee nurse, a receptionist and a Practice Manager.  At present we rely on 2 regular locums to give Michael a Thursday and every other Saturday off.  We have reached a client base to warrant another pair of hands, we need to offer extra consultation periods to keep up with demand.

In February this year we completed our extension which provides a well-equipped imaging suite and sterile theatre.  Since then, we have been through our General Practice PSS inspection and are looking forward to our accreditation soon.

Michael is a skilled surgeon and already the practice is getting known to be a place to send orthopaedic and soft tissue referrals.

We believe in a relaxed working atmosphere and defy anyone to disturb our 10:30am coffee break!  We have a few practice socials every year; summer BBQ, Xmas party and one or two Gloucester Rugby days.  

The Role

We need an ambitious competent individual to slot into our team, to initially support Michael with consults and surgery, but ultimately to build their own client base and become involved in the business.  We have an out of hours provider so the only weekend commitments are Saturday mornings.  We are open 8:15am to 7pm Monday to Friday with two consultation periods and an operating period every weekday.  There are usually a few hours in the early afternoon away from the practice to indulge in a bit of work/life balance.

Successful Candidate

We are looking for a dynamic, hard-working professional, with an interest in business who will uphold our values and  care about the practice to help drive it forward.  They would need to have a reasonable level of competence in all areas, but support and training would be gained by working alongside the team.
