The Role
Cheshire Pet, has an exciting opportunity available for a newly qualified Registered Veterinary Nurse to join the team at their small animal/exotic practice in Holmes Chapel, Cheshire. This role will involve surgery, nursing medical cases and exotics. It will also include nurse appointments and client care.

This will be a full-time position working either a four- or five-day week. This can be either 4 ten-hour days or 5 eight-hour days. There will be one Saturday morning shift required in four. Out of hours are delegated to Vets Now but we do look after the occasional inpatient which may necessitate a late check or weekend care.

The practice is purpose built in the village of Holmes Chapel, which is situated close to the peak district, a mile from the M6 and has a train station with direct link into Manchester.

Our practice is well maintained and very well equipped with specialised equipment such as digital X-Ray, Ultrasound, Laparoscopic equipment, Endoscopes & an underwater treadmill. All our wards are separate.

About the Team and Culture
At Cheshire Pet, we have a friendly team of 5 Vets, 7 Nurses and 1 Student Veterinary Nurse. We provide a wide range of surgical procedures and work up medical cases well. We have 2 exotic veterinary surgeons and see a wide range of species at the clinic. We aim to encourage our team and we will encourage you to learn new skills in whatever area interests you the most.

Our ideal candidate will be a newly qualified nurse who is looking for a new challenge. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, friendly and enjoys both surgical and medical nursing and keen to build relationships with our lovely clients.

Every new client that registers a healthy pet will get a free health check- up with one of our qualified nurses. Our nurses also regularly hold a number of different health clinics, including a dedicated Cat Clinic run by Laura on Mondays from 12:30 – 2pm, where we keep dogs appointments to a minimum (this is complimented by a cat friendly waiting area) and a 1 2 1 nurse clinic to go through advice on how to look after your new pet.

We will help you to look after your pet from preventative care such as vaccinations, flea treatment and worming through to emergency care and offer advice and support on an assortment of subjects such as youngsters, dental hygiene and senior pets.
