The Role

Due to our ever-growing caseload, we are looking to find a New Grad Veterinary Surgeon to join our wonderful team at White Cross Vets in West Derby.

We are a small animal practice offering an enthusiastic New Grad role of 40 hours a week, with a working pattern of 4 days per week, between the hours of 08:30 and 19:00 with a share of Saturday mornings. Time is given back for weekend work. There is no out of hours required for this role and there is a mixture of surgery and consults each day. Duties and requirements include; to provide high quality clinical care to all pets, provide an outstanding client experience and help to create and maintain an efficient clinic and to uphold and adhere to the White Cross Vets Principles both within the clinic and when representing White Cross Vets externally at all times.

About Us

The practice is ideally positioned with good transport links, allowing the ability to explore the city or surrounding countryside and coastal areas.

We are well equipped with dental radiography, digital X-ray, ultrasound, comprehensive in-house haematology, and biochemistry, multi parameter monitoring, bair-hugger, ecg, tonopen, diamond burr and dental drill.

About the Team and Culture

You will be working alongside an experienced and highly supportive team of 3 other vets with varied interests, including ophthalmology, medicine and surgery. We are also lucky to have the support of 5 highly skilled RVNs with a wealth of experience. We actively encourage career progression and further studies such as certificates and have two team members who are currently undertaking certificates.

We’re a supportive and friendly team who have regular social meetings outside of work. We are proud to be involved in collecting for homeless charities (for both dogs and humans) and for local food banks. Several team members are also involved in octopus for a preemie crochet charity. Several team members also attend fitness classes together.

You must have strong communication skills, the ability to work well in a team, passion to deliver great clinical quality and fantastic client service and a desire to care for pets as if they were your own.
