The Practice
Kelperland Veterinary Centre has been established in the area for over 50 years and is a friendly, family owned, community practice, situated rurally within beautifully converted farm buildings near Maidenhead. We have a highly qualified team striving to provide exceptional care for our clients’ pets and are a unique practice in the area due to our size, location, and independence.  We all enjoy the routine work that general practice provides but also perform advanced soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery. We are now also offering out our services for surgical referrals from other practices.  We don't have OOH call outs but do keep in patients overnight so there are plenty of good, ongoing medical cases too.

 We renovated most of the practice last year after acquiring more space on our site, adding extra consulting rooms, a much larger reception area and a new theatre too.

Successful Candidate
An exciting opportunity has come up for a highly motivated, enthusiastic Veterinary Surgeon to join our team.  Our focus as a GP practice is client care; many clients are on first name terms and the right candidate will fit into this relaxed, friendly, and welcoming environment.

We’re looking for a full or part time Vet who has good general surgical and medical skills. 

The Role

The role will be either 2, 3 or 4 days per week plus 1 in 4 Saturday mornings till midday with no out-of-hours.  We offer very competitive salary packages for the right candidate.  Shift times vary on a rota with finish times being 5 or 7pm.  We have successfully minimised overtime requirements by reducing pre-booked appointments after 6pm and changing our Saturday morning shift to emergency appointments only.

This role could also suit a new graduate. We would offer the right candidate 30-minute appointments and no Saturday rota for at least 3 months. We would enjoy guiding you through your first months in practice and you would be working with a team of 4 experienced vets and several very experienced nurses.

We aim to support vets on a case-by-case basis but also help them grow by assisting and encouraging them to further surgical and medical skills through support on site as well as CPD.  Your weekly rota would allow surgical time each week which would be assisted and supported by the team including a surgical certificate holder.  We enjoy the challenge of complex cases and approach them together.
