The Role

Here at Three Rivers Veterinary Group, we are looking for 2 Veterinary Surgeons to join our team. Our weekly Vet rota includes daily administration time and regularly scheduled breaks. We can offer a variety of exciting and fulfilling roles to suit the right candidate’s needs. Generally, our Vets work an even split of operating/consulting at our main practice and across our 5 other branches, this offers opportunities to gain support in surgery and evolve your skills. However, if you prefer working with a smaller team or consulting only roles, we can offer an adapted position at one of our branch practices. Certificates are fully supported and funded. There is no obligation to do out-of-hours or night work with this role but we have a good relationship with our local out-of-hours provider and occasional night shifts can be picked up and experience gained in ECC if this is something you are interested in. We have a well-established new graduate support system with clinical coaches, mentors, and Vet GDP advisors. We like to support our Vets and encourage them to follow areas of interest. Recently we have supported Vets through completing surgery and medicine certificates as well as improving skills in imaging and ophthalmology.

This position could be either part-time ideally between 20-30 hours per week or full time being 40 hours a week over 4 days. Our Vets also cover 1:6 Saturday mornings with either a day off the following week in lieu or the hours can be factored into your weekly hours if preferred.

The Salary will be up to £65,000.

We are a training practice currently supporting Student Registered Veterinary Nurses and one of our receptionists is training to become an Animal Nursing Assistant via the DWR academy. Our Support Team consists of exceptional Receptionists, Admin, and Maintenance/Cleaning Staff along with our Practice Director who is continually working alongside our Clinical Directors to improve the practice. More importantly than this we have the team of staff pets that accompany their owners to work as we have a well utilised bring your dog to work scheme with staff-specific kenneling in the pipeline.

We hold monthly Vet meetings and 3 monthly full practice communication afternoons, we actively encourage feedback, case discussions, and good communication.

Our 6 practices are situated on the Norfolk/Suffolk border and surrounded by the beautiful countryside of the Norfolk Broads National Park with stunning coastline within half an hour’s drive. There are good transport links to London and Norwich has a host of sporting and social events to enjoy in your time off.

Company

The practice was originally established in a private house in London Road, Beccles in 1935 and was originally known as J. C. Taylor and Partners.

In 1977 the practice moved to purpose built premises in London Road on the southern outskirts of Beccles. Since that time three large extensions have been added as the practice has grown. The Beccles practice is an RCVS accredited practice for small animals and farm animals. As one of the larger practices in East Anglia we also have three other busy surgeries in Loddon, Poringland and Kessingland.

Three Rivers Veterinary Group is owned and run by Mike Bardsley, Nick Hope, Mark Norton and Emma Petts.

The Partners are assisted by 4 other full time veterinary surgeons. There is a comprehensive team of nurses and receptionists to complement the Veterinary Surgeons and the Practice Manager, Sarah Edge who is responsible for the day to day running of the practice.
