The Role

We are looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly and supportive team ideally on a full time basis however we are extremely flexible with working hours and can accommodate applicants looking for part time hours, including working mums & dads to fit around the school run etc, with a fully negotiable rota . Full time hours are worked across 4.5 days per week with shifts between 8:30am and 6:30pm plus weekends and night out of hours on rotation of 1:7 weeknights and 14: weekends which consists of Saturday morning in practice 8:30am – 12:30pm plus on Saturday afternoon/night on call with Sunday off or a full weekend on call depending on the rota.

This position is open to vet surgeons of all experiences and you will be joining a well established and experienced team including several certificate holders. There is an opportunity to focus on any special interests as good CPD is offered and several vets have progressed through certificates with us. We enjoy supporting and bringing on new graduates but would equally welcome someone more established.

Salary up to £55,000 subject to experience + up to £5,000 relocation bonus + additional benefits.

Cibyn Vets are a well-established small animal veterinary practice in Caernarfon, North Wales, offering a high standard of first opinion care. We have a great team and a fantastic, loyal client base. We often see returning clients throughout the years, meaning we get to care for our patients from puppies/kittens to seniors. We are proud to do our own OOH and care for our own inpatients overnight though it is not especially busy. This role would be great for a Surgeon with a strong GP interest, looking for a long-term role in an easy-going practice.

Investing in our practice, patient care and team is important to us. We would therefore be really keen to support your expertise or learning goals and incorporate them into the services the practice provides. Our practice benefits from in-house blood and lab facilities for routine work, ultrasound, x-ray / dental x-ray and endoscopy facilities. We also have an associated ophthalmology referral department.

We are situated in the beautiful area of Snowdonia, North Wales. We are well located for those who enjoy the more rural side of life, with plenty of countryside and hill walk areas, beaches and lakes for wild swimming.

We really do value our team here at Cibyn Vets and all their hard work. We pull together and support each other in the harder times and really are more like a family than co-workers. We are a team of consisting of 8 Vets, 5 RVN's and 3 SVN's. We also have an Ophthalmology team who run the Snowdonia Eye Vets referral centre onsite.

Applicant Requirements 

We are looking for a highly motivated Veterinary Surgeon who can thrive and enjoy working in our practice. You will be confident and professional with the ability to work seamlessly alongside our practice teams to provide a quality experience for our clients and pets alike. You will need to be RCVS registered, have strong communication skills, have the ability to work well in a team, be comfortable to work sole charge (only at weekends and out of hours with backup ALWAYS available) and have a passion to deliver great clinical care and fantastic client service.

Cibyn Veterinary Clinic, based in Caernarfon, Gwynedd, is a North Wales vets clinic established since 1978, moving to our current custom built surgery in 1997. 

Since 2014 we have been taken over by Independent Vet Care, enabling us to take advantage of the positives of the bigger companies but still run as an independent practice.

We have high standard pet grooming facilities on site.

We provide veterinary services for companion animals (pets); dogs, cats, rabbits and other small animals, as well as the more exotic pets routinely presented to us.

We have ten highly qualified vets and 8 qualified nurses who uphold high nursing standards for our hospitalized cases. We take an on-going approach to professional development and all members of staff regularly attend training courses.

We have clients from all areas of Gwynedd, including Caernarfon, Bangor and Pwllheli - and further afield from Anglesey - and we are very well equipped to cope with a large mixture of cases.
