Job Details

Shires Vets are looking to welcome an enthusiastic, dedicated equine vet, with the drive to help us push forward our primary care equine business.

Shires Vets was established over 90 years ago. We are a mixed practice serving Staffordshire and the surrounding counties, with sites in Eccleshall, Gnosall, Stoke on Trent, Stone & Stafford. Our small animal, large animal & equine departments run separately from each other, and we have designated teams at each of the sites. All of our practices are individual but two important things bring us together, a commitment to excellence in everything we do.

Our equine department is based in the Staffordshire market town of Eccleshall which was listed in the Sunday Times's 100 best places in the UK to live. It is a rural setting but within easy reach of the M6 and the bright lights of Birmingham and Manchester if you want a trip to the city.

Your role and responsibilities

We offer a tremendously friendly ambulatory service to our loyal clients and are looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our aspirational team. Ideally, we would like someone with 2-3 years experience and a passion for offering high standards of patient care and great customer service.

This role is ambulatory, working in our 3 vet equine team. There is a varied caseload ranging from routine procedures such as vaccinations and dentals to gastroscoping and lameness examinations. This is a fantastic opportunity for an all-around equine clinician looking for a position that offers case continuity and where they can build a great rapport with their clients. We support certificates and would be keen to talk to you about your professional goals and aspirations.
