About Us

Set up in 2012 by husband-and-wife team Kevin and Kirstie Gray, Parley Cross Vets is independent, family owned and celebrating its tenth anniversary this year.  It is a highly regarded friendly, welcoming practice with a reputation for fixing problems.   Kevin has over 20 years’ veterinary experience and an interest in orthopaedics, Kirstie has a degree in HRM and ensures everyone who needs it gets their morning tea or coffee.  The team is highly valued, appreciated, and respected.  Monthly meetings (with lunch and cake) are used to discuss ideas, cases, etc with annual one-to-one meetings to support personal CPD and career aspirations.  Team nights out bowling, BBQs, trips to Crufts, or just a dog walk on the weekend are regular occurrences.

The Practice

The recently refurbished practice incorporates 2 vet consult rooms, 1 Nurses consult room, with large prep area, open plan kennel and cattery and a large staff room.  We take full advantage of our large garden and have our own staff car park.  Tea, coffee, squash and fresh fruit always available.  The practice is situated in a small village parade of shops that include Tesco express, Pharmacy, Post Office, Hairdresser, Sandwich shop and Fish and Chip shop. 

Newly replaced practice equipment includes, new ultrasound laptop, rigid endoscope, dental machine, operating theatre light, top of the range incubator which includes an oxygen chamber and nebuliser for our dyspneic and neonate patients. As well as having a digital x ray processor, plus the usual accoutrements.  We are happy to invest in further equipment to support specific interests and skills.

Opening Hours

8.30am – 6.30pm Monday – Friday

9am – 12pm Saturday

No on call, No out-of-hours

Situated in West Parley an affluent village on the outskirts of Bournemouth, with the Beautiful New Forest a short step away.  The conurbation of Bournemouth is a thriving cosmopolitan university town with a diverse range of restaurants, Greek, Turkish, Arabic, Polish, Mexican, Chilean, Thai, Malay etc and many clubs, pubs, and bars.  Other entertainments include theatres, cinemas, and an indoor water flume park.   Further into the country there are many good country pubs with amazing food, grand historical houses such as Kingston Lacey, Beaulieu House and Motoring Museum and Athelhampton House or castles such as Corfe, Sherborne, Lulworth and Portland.


With so many beautiful beaches and the second largest natural harbour in the world, there is a lot to do.  Cliff and rock climbing, kite surfing, windsurfing, paddle boarding, sailing, jet skiing, beach volleyball, sea-fishing, to name but a few.  Further in land, the surrounding countryside provides ample opportunity for mountain biking, horse riding, hiking, river and lake fishing, camping, motocross, off-roading, quad biking. 

And if that doesn’t take your fancy you could always try the nationally renowned Gold Hill Cheese Race, The World Nettle Eating championship, lawnmower racing or the Poole Harbour Bathtub Raft Race. In Dorset there is something for everyone.
