About us

For over 60 years our veterinary practice has been serving the local community of Ledbury, Herefordshire, by providing excellent quality care for all animal types including exotic. Amongst our many care services we also have a 24-hour emergency service that is available 365 days a year by our own certified veterinary surgeons. We pride ourselves on our experience and continuous care that is provided to all our patients across the practice.

We offer a variety of niche services to our clients and their patients including acupuncture, shock wave and laser therapy along with our stem cell centre.  We have laparoscopic equipment, endoscope, ultrasound, multi-parameter capnograph as well as a visiting MRI monthly, so we think we have an excellent array of facilities that we hope you may want to work with.

Your role and responsibilities

Are you looking for a new role as an RVN but looking for something a bit different?  Wanting to work in a truly supportive and collaborative team where everyone honestly enjoys coming to work?  Then Leadon Vale Vets may be the place for you!

We are seeking a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join our amazing team on a Part-time basis ideally 16 hours over 2 days with one of those being a late shift (11am – 8pm) and ability to cover on call.  Our days are based on 8hours with a 1:5 weekend rota.

We would describe ourselves as a bonded team who regularly socialise together (covid restrictions permitting) and have a collaborative culture across the whole practice.  We believe in full nurse utilisation which affords our nursing community the ability to get involved in all areas of practice life and empowers them to work towards their goals.  We are passionate about you having your own responsibilities and support specialisation allowing for huge scope to progress in your chosen area.

The senior leadership team openly listen and take on board the nursing teams ideas in order to develop and grow our team, services and business.  We operate an open door policy and champion our team to support them in all areas that we possibly can.

Although we have an on-call rota, we look after our team covering these hours and give back this time so you can fully appreciate a work/life balance. To give you an idea of how we structure this (based on full-time hours) For a weekend on call, you will work the late shift on the Friday (11am – 8pm) be on call overnight (accommodation on site if required), Saturday clinic 8:30 – 1:30pm and then on call through to Monday morning.  After your weekend on call, you will have the following Friday a small shift of 8am – 11am and then the rest of Friday and the Weekend is your time.  We also appreciate that some on call shifts can be more arduous than others and if we are able to, will allow shorter hours to account for this on the following Monday.

We want our team to feel appreciated and enjoy their time in work as we believe this leads to the best in patient care.  If you would like to be part of this phenomenal team, then please do not hesitate to get in touch.
