Job Details

A rare opportunity has arisen for a lead vet position in our prestigious Fulham practice.
Working four days per week  with a fixed day off every week (including the opportunities for some shorter shifts), in our RCVS accredited branch in West London situated on the Kings Road only moments from Fulham Broadway Station, you will be joining our network of Central London first opinion branches. Our practice has built up a strong local reputation and has many bonded clients that trust in, and value the efficient and professional service they receive for their pets.

The practice boasts two consulting rooms, a quiet prep and theatre area, an office space, and a colleague room used for breaks and meetings. We utilise our in-house lab equipment very effectively as clients are keen, and willing, to complete diagnostics as part of their pet’s treatment plans. We are supported by Stone Lion 24-hour Hospital in Wimbledon, so also have the advantage of referring emergency cases within only a short travelling distance.
You will be a vet who puts the client relationship at the forefront and can manage your time and prioritise your caseload well.

You will be confident in surgery including all routine neutering and the ability to use diagnostics in working up medical cases will be important. OV status will be required, and we are happy to fund this training if needed. If you are keen to develop or add to your skills either clinically, surgically or in a leadership capacity, we are always happy to support you with a generous CPD allowance and paid CPD days.

Our ideal candidate will enjoy working with two other vets as well as having some sole charge responsibility. The role is a 4 days per week in branch with a 1 in 4 Saturday rota. There is no night work or on call. To provide a mix between branch and hospital work, with a great way to experience ECC work, we would also like you to join the Sunday rota (1:10) at our RCVS accredited tier 3 hospital in Wimbledon.

We have an excellent benefit package including increasing holiday allowance (up to 6 weeks plus Bank Holidays), BUPA private health insurance as well as a cash back scheme on routine medical costs such as, but not limited to, dental care, physiotherapy, optician, and chiropody fees. We have a 24/7 employee assistance programme, generous shopping and leisure discounts and a cycle to work scheme.

If you are interested in this rewarding and high profile role and working with a well-established practice we would love to speak with you.

We have a great reputation for looking after our staff; over 20% of our team have been with us for 10 years or more and we are proud of our many 5-star employee reviews on Indeed. At the heart of it all, we really value our team. We have created a Colleague Forum to listen to our peers’ views and we have run many virtual Town Hall meetings throughout the pandemic giving us the opportunity to run live polls and Q & A sessions, ensuring we are making the right decisions for our people. All our senior managers are Mental Health First Aid trained and we offer Wellness Plans for all our new starters, so you know you are in good hands.

We are a forward-thinking organisation with big ambitions. We have developed our own successful contact centre to help ease reception pressure in our busy clinics and allow us more time to chat with our clients about their needs. This year we have a big programme of refurbishments and we are continually reviewing our clinics’ equipment needs to help make them the best they can be.

The bright lights of the city are easily accessible from all our locations, giving you the opportunity to enjoy London at its fullest, whether that be a stroll in leafy parks, meeting people in buzzing bars or having a night out in Theatreland — working with Goddard Veterinary Group can open many doors, in more ways than one.
