Job Details

We are seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team and support our vet(s) and nursing colleagues in our Tooting branch. We are positioned in a vibrant area of London, with great access to public transport and local amenities. You will be working alongside an experienced and compassionate team who have a passion for building strong bonds with their loyal client base.

Training and career progression is important to us, so we are looking for someone happy to be a clinical coach to support junior team members in their development to become a Veterinary Nurse, whilst being able to develop your own skillset at the same time. Full training will be provided if you have no prior coaching experience.

The role is full time, 40 hours a week with a Saturday rota of 1 in 4 and a Sunday rota of 1 in 10 with one bank holiday per year. No nights or on call, as this is provided by our Stone Lion Hospital, where you will also have an opportunity to spend some time. If you thrive on providing support to vets, clients and your team, love your time both in theatre and also providing great pet care advice and you believe that life is better with pets then our company culture will be ideal for you.

Our salary range is £30,000 to £33,000 per annum depending on experience. In addition, we offer paid CPD - with 2 full or 3 -part days paid CPD. We see CPD for veterinary nurses as an investment in the individual as well as for the practice, and in some roles, we can support study for veterinary nurse certificate qualifications.

We have a great benefits package including:

- Five weeks holiday plus Bank Holidays

– Simply Health which provides cashback/refunds on many routine medical costs such as dental care, physiotherapy, optician, chiropractic fees, and more.

– 24hr Employee Assistance Programme.

– Generous shopping/leisure discounts (never pay full price in all the major shops and cinemas again!).

– Cycle to work scheme.

– Great colleague pet discount scheme.

– Paid BVNA membership, RCVS and VDS fees.

– Colleague Introduction incentive of £1500.

In 2022 we are celebrating our 70th anniversary and have 44 branches, 3 hospitals and our own nurse training college. We value all of our colleagues and our forward-looking approach means we have introduced a Colleague Forum to listen to our peers’ views, as well as monthly Town Hall meetings, communicating real time updates, taking polls with live Q&A’s to ensure we’re making the right, collaborative decisions for our people. All our senior managers are Mental Health First Aid trained and we offer Wellness plans for all our new starters. We are a forward-thinking practice and have developed our own successful contact centre to help ease reception pressure in our busy branches. We have a schedule of refurbishments planned and are continually reviewing equipment needs at our practices. As an A1 Home Office approved sponsor, we are sometimes able to help non-UK veterinary surgeons and nurses obtain a working visa.

Goddard Veterinary Group offers opportunities to all levels of talent within the veterinary industry — we care for our people as much as we do for our pets. If you are a strong team player looking to share our philosophy of practising to the highest clinical standards and providing excellent client care, then why not get in touch? This year we have a big programme of refurbishments and we are continually reviewing our clinics’ equipment needs to help make them the best they can be.

The bright lights of the city are easily accessible from all our locations, giving you the opportunity to enjoy London at its fullest, whether that be a stroll in leafy parks, meeting people in buzzing bars or having a night out in Theatreland — working with Goddard Veterinary Group can open many doors, in more ways than one.
