Job Details

We are seeking an experienced Senior RVN to join our team and support the vets and nursing colleagues in our Fulham branch. We are positioned in a vibrant area of London, with great access to public transport and local amenities. This is a long established, busy practice, in a prestigious area of London. We look after lots of long-standing and loyal clients as well as attracting many new pet owners due to our strong local reputation. We are well known in the local community due to the standards of patient care that we offer. We understand the importance of the pet and owner bond in everything that we do.

Whilst ideally you would like to be with us on a full-time basis, we understand that every candidate is unique in what they are looking for in their career, so we are open to discuss less than full time opportunities.

What we can provide is a two-vet team for you to work alongside, with supportive and knowledgeable nursing and support colleagues (who make also make great cakes!), plus a stimulating environment to work in. We have a full lab suite, ultrasound, two consulting rooms, a large prep and theatre area and a colleague rest area for those important lunch breaks.

Training and career progression is important to us, so we are looking for someone happy to be a clinical coach to support junior team members in their development whilst being able to develop your own skillset at the same time. Full training will be provided if you have no prior coaching experience.

We would love to find nurses to work with who enjoy all aspects of the nursing role from supporting our vets in surgery through to running your own nurse consultations with the potential to explore areas of personal interest through fully-funded CPD.

We are seeking an RVN who is a great communicator with clients and colleagues and has a passion for variety in their day, from routine to emergency care as no two days are ever the same!

The role could be full or part time up to 40 hours per week with a Saturday rota of 1 in 4; no nights or on call, as this is provided by our Stone Lion Hospital, where you will also have an opportunity to spend some time on a rota of 1 in 10 Sundays.. If you thrive on providing support to vets, clients and your team, love your time both in theatre and also providing great pet care advice and you believe that life is better with pets then our company culture will be ideal for you.

The salary range for our senior RVNs is £33,000 to £36,000 per annum depending on experience. In addition, we offer paid CPD- with 2 full or 3 part days CPD allowance. We see CPD as an investment in the individual as well as for the practice, and in some roles, we can support study for nursing certificate qualifications.

We have a great benefits package including:

  • Five weeks holiday plus Bank Holidays
  • Simply Health membership which provides cashback/refunds on many routine medical costs such as dental care, physiotherapy, optician, chiropractic fees, and more.
  • 24hr Employee Assistance Programme.
  • Generous shopping/leisure discounts (never pay full price in all the major shops and cinemas again!).
  • Cycle to work scheme.
  • Great colleague pet discount scheme.
  • Paid BVNA membership and RCVS fees.
  • Colleague Introduction incentive of £2500

Goddard Veterinary Group was started in 1952 by Arthur Goddard and now consists of 44 branches, 3 hospitals, and our own nursing college. We have a great reputation for looking after our people; over 20% of our team have been with us 10 years or more and we’re proud of our many 5-star employee reviews on Indeed.

We value all colleagues, and our forward-looking approach means we have introduced a Colleague Forum to listen to our peers’ views, as well as monthly Town Hall meetings, communicating real time updates, taking polls with live Q&A’s to ensure we’re making the right, collaborative decisions for our people. All our senior managers are Mental Health First Aid trained and we offer Wellness plans for all our new starters. We are a forward-thinking practice and have developed our own successful contact centre to help ease reception pressure in our busy branches. We have a schedule of refurbishments planned and are continually reviewing equipment needs at our practices. As an A1 Home Office approved sponsor, we are sometimes able to help non-UK veterinary surgeons and nurses obtain a working visa.
