The Role

We have an opportunity for a part-time Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our well-established team at Gatehouse Veterinary Group. The duties will include inpatient care of critical and non-critical cases, assisting the Vets in surgery if applicable and with emergencies, as they arise, delivery of medications/feeds/ivft under veterinary direction, upkeep of the practice to hospital standards, liaising with clients and giving updates regarding patient status. 

The rota will include working 24 hours per week over 2-3 days however we are happy to negotiate if more or less are required. Ideally, the candidate would work both Saturdays and Sundays with the option of one day per week however as before we are happy to negotiate. The weekend shift would be from 7:00am -7:00pm Saturday and Sunday and there are no out of hours.

About Us

We are a busy, well-established, tier 3 training practice with hospital status. Located in the West Riding of Yorkshire we are a short drive away from the Yorkshire Dales and Bronte Country. We are closely located to good travel networks and links and pride ourselves on our excellent teamwork and inpatient care. We have 3 sites across West Yorkshire all well equipped with Ultrasound, endo scope, x-ray equipment, dental suites, etc offering 24-hour care for patients. We are a gold standard ISFM certified cat-friendly practice with a silver certificate for rabbits.

Currently, we have 8 Veterinary Surgeons, 11 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 4 Student Veterinary Nurses, 2 Veterinary Care Assistants, and 14 Receptionists. We hold regular team building events including our annual treasure hunt, weekends away, and opportunities to attend various congresses. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who struggles with childcare during the week, someone wishing to study for a certificate or further their career, or a Registered Veterinary Nurse wishing to take a step back into the profession.
