Due to our continued success, we have some exciting opportunities available within The Park Vet Group. Let’s see if we have the matching opportunity for you!

About us

The Park Vet Group was established over 100 years ago and is now a fully RCVS accredited multi-site, primary care and mid-tier referral practice. We also have our dedicated Farm practice, spanning Leicestershire and adjoining counties.

With sites in Whetstone, Glenfield, Saffron Lane & Scraptoft Lane, all our practices are self-sufficient and are fully equipped, but we like to share best-practice and work as a big team.

Our sites run independently and see their own varied caseloads. We have certificate holders in diagnostic imaging, ophthalmology, orthopaedics, and small animal soft tissue surgery, and emergency critical care. We have a dedicated 24/7 emergency hospital service, at the Glenfield Hospital.

As an Associate at The Park Vet Group, you will be joining a friendly and enthusiastic, large, team of vets across our sites, including certificate holders in imaging, surgery, diagnostic imaging, and advanced practitioners in ophthalmology. We also have surgeons studying towards medicine & critical care certificates. Across the group we also have an experienced nursing team (including two surgical diploma holders) & a wonderful front of house team too who support us daily.

Here at The Park Vet Group, we offer some fantastic referral, OOH, and advanced services, but we equally champion our primary care vets, and the fantastic service we offer for routine and first opinion caseloads.

As a team, we often discuss clinical cases and have monthly team meetings to share knowledge and communications.

We work closely with Willows, a local referral site, to run additional in-house CPD events. We run a journal club and enjoy socialising events outside of work too, when possible. It is fair to say that we all get on well as a team and enjoy our working days together. We have a real team spirit, and any new associates will be warmly welcomed.

Our variety of experience levels means that we have been able to offer a fantastic new graduate programme that offers great support. We are a nurse training practice and work closely with local universities & training colleges too. We, therefore, have plenty of opportunities for mentoring if this is something you enjoy.

Our branch sites are well equipped with digital x-ray, quality ultrasound, dental equipment, in house labs, dedicated operating theatres, and carry out all standard primary care procedures daily.

Our Glenfield Tier 3 RCVS accredited Hospital has all this plus kit such as; CT machine, a range of endoscopes including video, ASIF kit, TPLO/TTA/Tightrope, arthroscopy, Phacoemulsification and advanced ophthalmology equipment, dedicated 24 hour nursing and vet teams, and much more.

In your spare time, there is a lot to enjoy locally. The Park Vet Group is based in the wonderful city of Leicester which is the largest city in the East Midlands. We have excellent travel links, access to good schools and beautiful countryside.

Leicester is a modern city steeped in years of history and there is lots to do locally whether you enjoy the great outdoors or prefer the hustle and bustle of the city.

Your role and responsibilities

We can offer roles that can be tailored to suit you, including exposure to advanced cases, inpatient work, alongside primary care duties.

We are keen to support certificates for our associates, where we can for personal and business development. We understand the need to be flexible with working hours and are open to discussing the ideal role for you. We welcome full and part-time applications, and our day roles include no out of hours (OOHs).

We can trace the roots of the practice back over 100 years in the days when the vet visited using a pony and trap and went as far afield as Coventry.

Over the years the practice has grown from a one branch practice, to having a dedicated farm practice, 4 pet surgeries that are spread across Leicestershire, a Referral Service and a dedicated Emergency Service open 24/7.

Our aim always remains the same: to provide the highest quality of care for pets for a prolonged and happy life. We have always employed highly trained, caring, compassionate and approachable staff using facilities to achieve just this.
