The Role

We are looking for a Veterinary Surgeon with experience to join our team in our first opinion small animal practice. This is a permanent full-time position, but we will consider part time applications and flexible hours. The caseload is varied, and the role provides a mix of consulting and surgery. The role also involves 1 in 6 Saturday mornings. Salary up to £60,000 depending on experience. We concentrate on a good work life balance for all our employees, and we support all areas of development whether that be career progression or studying for certifications in areas of interest.

About Us

Hawthorne Lodge Vets are a single site small animal first opinion practice in the town of Banbury, North Oxfordshire, only 55 minutes from the centre of London by train and located midway between Oxford and Stratford-upon-Avon. We are a 6-vet practice working with an experienced support staff team including 6 RVN’s. Our spacious, purpose-designed practice is fully equipped. In addition, we also have an on-site CT scanner, equipment for laparoscopic surgery and a dedicated dental suite with dental x-rays. One of our vets is currently studying for a certificate in surgery and we also have a certificate holder in ophthalmology and medicine.

Hawthorne Lodge Vets in Banbury, Oxfordshire specialise in treating cats, dogs and children's pets in and around Banbury, Adderbury, Bloxham, Middleton Cheney and Deddington.

Hawthorne Lodge Vets situated in West Bar, Banbury is an independent veterinary practice, owned by the principal vet, Justin Yates MA VetMB CertVR MRCVS.

In a changing veterinary care world of growing corporate dominance, we are able to make decisions based on the clinical judgements of our individual vets, rather than being governed by directors in a central office, far removed from frontline clinical care.

We provide our own emergency vet care exclusively for our own patients, so that in a time of crisis, you will be in familiar surroundings, and we will have your pet's full medical history to hand.

Our team of five vets has a combined experience of over forty years looking after pets.  We carry out ward rounds for our patients every day, when we discuss unusual or challenging cases, as we believe in most instances five heads are better than one.

Based in recently refurbished premises a stone's throw from Banbury Cross, the practice has extensive, free parking, and a large range of modern diagnostic and surgical equipment.
