Job Type: Permanent

Hours per week: 35

Closing Date: Friday 8 July 2022

Looking for a change from practice but still want to use your nursing knowledge?

Dogs Trust is the largest dog welfare charity in the UK with a nationwide network of rehoming centres and charity shops. Last year, Dogs Trust centres cared for approximately 14,000 dogs; we never put a healthy dog down.

We are looking for an enthusiastic RVN to join our veterinary team based in our London office for a busy, demanding and varied role.

The veterinary team supports our RVN's throughout the organisation as well as overseeing the veterinary aspects of a dogs' journey through the rehoming process. This role includes various administrative duties, delivering training courses to Dogs Trust staff, internal clinical locum cover and there is the possibility for international travel on occasion.

Assisting with our Shared Adoption Scheme and Veterinary Support Fund, you will be handling and resolving enquires, working in our on-site pharmacy, overseeing finances and maintaining records for our rehomed dogs. This role also involves liaising with adopters, our rehoming centre staff, external veterinary professionals and wider Dogs Trust teams.

As an experienced RVN, you will need to be happy working in a team, have a flexible attitude and have confident IT skills.

Dogs Trust actively encourage professional development, with opportunities to work alongside our in-house behavioural teams, and a generous CPD allowance (including access to external opportunities). Additionally, RCVS fees for Vet Nurses are paid.

You should be driven by the roles and objectives of Dogs Trust and animal welfare.

To apply for this position please click the APPLY NOW button.

Our application process requires you submit a CV and a cover letter explaining your interest and suitability for the role.

At Dogs Trust we value diversity and we're committed to creating an inclusive culture.  We actively encourage applications from people of all backgrounds, abilities and cultures and believe that a diverse workforce will help us to achieve our mission. Should you need any adjustments to the recruitment process, either at application or interview stage, please contact us on jobs@dogstrust.org.uk.
