The Role

An Exciting opportunity has arisen for a NEW or RECENT GRADUATE veterinary surgeon to join our team at Toll Barn Vets, Norfolk. We understand how important, and sometimes daunting, the first few years of your veterinary career are, and we are committed to helping support and mentor our junior colleagues and help you grow in confidence and skills and develop a lifelong love of the veterinary profession.

Our rota includes 4 day working weeks with rota for 4-day weekends off each month to allow mini breaks and ensure a good work life balance is maintained. Our consults are 15 minutes with 30 minutes for euthanasia’s, blood samples, more complex cases. Our vets also have protected admin time. Our new graduate would start with longer consultation times gradually reducing to 15 minutes with confidence and experience alongside structured progress reviews and development plans. Our mix of species and cases means there is always plenty of opportunity to learn new skills whilst being fully supported by more experienced colleagues. Certificates are fully supported, funded, and encouraged. Our days include an hour’s lunch break and additional time for admin/lab reports / phone calls.

About Us

Our family run independent practice cares for small animals and exotics and offers referral services for exotic pets, CT scanning and laser therapy and cares for a couple of local zoo collections. Our new or recent graduate will have full support from a dedicated experienced Vet GDP Advisor who is specifically there to support and mentor you - they don’t have to “fit you in” between their own consult lists providing you with an unrivalled opportunity to learn and gain skills both surgically and medically. Since opening in 2014 Toll Barn Vets, our purpose built, and family run independent practice has grown quickly and enjoys a loyal client base with a large number of interesting medical, imaging and surgical cases.

All our vets have particular areas of interest, and we are happy to support, invest and encourage these. Our vets have a great support team including 10 RVNs, SVN and ANA’s. We are proudly independent and strive to offer fantastic patient and client care. We are accredited Gold Feline Friendly and Gold Rabbit Friendly and are proud to have won the Burgess Rabbit Practice of the Year award. The practice has separate cat, dog and exotic pet waiting areas and wards, dedicated operating theatres and prep room, laser therapy unit, on site C.T. scanner, digital x ray, dental x-ray, ultrasound, video endoscopy, tonometry, multiparameter units etc and a memory garden. We are seeking a veterinary surgeon with a passion for patient and client care and a friendly approachable personality who we can support to grow and fulfil their dreams.

The Package

We offer a very generous salary dependent on experience (starting £35,000) 4-day week with a range of benefits including rotas to include 4-day weekends off work each month, protected admin time, funded webinar vet membership, VDS, RCVS, CPD, BUPA healthcare, pension, and additional benefits (including additional sick days and additional holiday days) with length of employment and potential relocation package.

We are a genuinely happy and friendly team! Located in beautiful Norfolk with the Norfolk broads and fine beaches within 20 minutes (including an active breeding seal colony!), truly rural countryside and London less than 2.5 hours away.

Company

Our friendly team is dedicated to providing high quality veterinary care for you and your pets in a supportive caring environment. We realise pets are members of the family and are committed to assisting you in making the best decisions for the health and well being of your companions.

Our small team means you will usually see the same vet allowing better continuity of care.

We believe your pets are as important to us as they are to you which is why we offer longer consultations and flexible appointment times with dedicated cat, dog and exotic waiting areas and wards.

Continued investment in state-of-the-art facilities and equipment allows rapid “in-house” diagnosis and treatment of most diseases affecting pets and exotic animals.
