Job Details

The role:

Come and join our super friendly team at Wem!

One of our vets is going on maternity leave and we'd like to welcome a vet to cover for this year.

A particular interest in GP-level surgery would make a nice addition to the breadth of skills in the practice.

This is a full-time role working 4 days a week at Wem with one in 6 weekends at our 24-hour Shrewsbury Hospital.

We have a great team of 4 RVNs and 2 SVNs to complement our 3 vets (1 full-time, 2 part-time).

The team attends a monthly pub quiz and regularly dog walks together, there's plenty of out of work socialising if that's your thing.

Our Wem branch is a large, spacious, purpose-built practice in the middle of town with loads of parking.

Accommodation is available in the nice flat above the practice if desired.

Salary & benefits:

  • - Salary package up to £63,000 Depending on experience
  • - Medivet Vehicle
  • - CPD £1,500 plus 3 days of CPD leave
  • - RCVS, VDS, BVA fees paid
  • - 5 weeks of annual leave plus bank holidays

Wem is a small market town in Shropshire, 9 miles north of Shrewsbury with good transport links to Shrewsbury and Cheshire. Lots of walking nearby. The town and surrounding area have a supermarket, swimming pool, gym, bakery, and good pubs and restaurants.

Wem is a custom-built practice light and spacious situated in the middle of town. Parking is available in a large car park on-site. The practice has digital x-ray, ultrasound, in-house lab, separate cat and dog ward with separate prep and theatre with 3 consult rooms.
