Job Title: Registered Veterinary Nurse (Consulting)

Salary: £22,500 - £25,000 negotiable dependent on experience

Location: Ledbury, Herefordshire

Job Type: Permanent

Hours: Open to Full or Part-time applications

Are you an RVN with a passion for consulting?

Do you enjoy communicating with clients about preventative healthcare?

Want to develop nurse consults and provide a valuable service to your patients, freeing up Vet appointments and utilizing your skills?

Wanting to work in a truly supportive and collaborative team where everyone honestly enjoys coming to work?

Then Leadon Vale Vets may be the place for you!

About us

For over 60 years our veterinary practice has been serving the local community of Ledbury, Hertfordshire, by providing excellent quality care for all animal types including exotic. Amongst our many care services we also have a 24-hour emergency service that is available 365 days a year by our own certified veterinary surgeons. We pride ourselves on our experience and the continuous care that is provided to all our patients across the practice.

We offer a variety of niche services to our clients and their patients including acupuncture, shock wave, and laser therapy along with our stem cell centre.  We have laparoscopic equipment, endoscope, ultrasound, multi-parameter capnograph as well as a visiting MRI monthly, so we think we have an excellent array of facilities that we hope you may want to work with.

Your role and responsibilities

We are seeking a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) who is looking to increase our nurse consults.  Join our amazing team and we will consider both full and part-time requirements. Full-time is 40 hours and Part-time ideally 2 days with one of those being a late shift (11 am – 8 pm) and the ability to cover on-call.  Our days are based on 8 hours with a 1:5 weekend rota.

We would describe ourselves as a bonded team who regularly socialize together and have a collaborative culture across the whole practice.  We believe in full nurse utilization which affords our nursing community the ability to get involved in all areas of practice life and empowers them to work towards their goals.  We are passionate about you having your own responsibilities and support specialization allowing for the huge scope to progress in your chosen area.

The senior leadership team openly listens and takes on board the nursing team's ideas to develop and grow our team, services, and business.  We operate an open-door policy and champion our team to support them in all areas that we possibly can.

Although we have an on-call rota, we look after our team covering these hours and give back this time so you can fully appreciate a work/life balance. For a weekend on-call, you will work the late shift on Friday (11 am – 8 pm) be on call overnight (accommodation on site if required), Saturday clinic 8:30 – 1:30 pm, and then on call through to Monday morning.  After your weekend on-call, you will have the following Friday a small shift of 8 am – 11 am, and then the rest of Friday and the Weekend is your time.  We also appreciate that some on-call shifts can be more arduous than others and if we can, will allow shorter hours to account for this on the following Monday.

We want our team to feel appreciated and enjoy their time at work as we believe this leads to the best in patient care.  If you would like to be part of this phenomenal team, then please do not hesitate to get in touch.
