Job Description

Our team at Doncaster Vets4Pets is growing and we’re now looking for a Vet to join us. We can offer full or part time rotas, up to 40 hours per week, with just 1 in 3 Saturdays and no OOHs!

You'll be joining a friendly team of 3 Vets, a Head RVN, Senior RVN, 2 RVNs, 2 SVNs, 1 VCA, 6 Receptionists and a Practice Manager. We are a forward-thinking practice who encourages Vets to fully utilize their skills and knowledge. Nurses are also given the opportunity to carry out schedule 3 procedures.

We are always happy to support additional training opportunities for our colleagues.

Our caseload includes surgical, medical and exotics, and a large amount of our clients are insured. You'll be working on a purpose-built practice that’s being refurbished and extended, so you’ll be working in a very smart looking environment. We’re building an additional theatre, a dedicated dental suite with dental X-rays, an additional consult room and augmenting some of the other spaces. Additionally, we have a digital X-Ray, an In-House lab, endoscopy, ultrasound, multipara meter monitor and separate dog and cat wards. With a wide and varied caseload, we can offer a position that guarantees job satisfaction and career development.

We are looking for a proactive veterinary surgeon with good people skills and solid medical and surgical skills. There will be a sole charge requirement, so you should feel confident with this. Key to your success will be your ability to embrace all aspects of the role, delivering excellent patient and client care. You will be a strong team player and enjoy the variety the role will bring.

This is a full-time role which will include 4 x 10 hour days each week with a set day off. 1/3 Saturdays, additional day off in week after weekend and no OOHs!

We can offer you benefits that include:

  • Salary up to £60,000
  • Contributory pension scheme
  • CPD allowance
  • Professional memberships paid – BVA or BSAVA, VDS, RCVS
  • No out-of-hours
  • 1 in 3 Saturdays
  • Annual leave – 20 Days + 8 Bank Holidays
  • Exclusive company discounts and rewards, including 20% off at Pets at Home, The Groom Room, and the Vet Group

We are in an excellent location, close to A1 and M18 and 10 minutes' walk from the train station and bus terminal making commuting easy.

If we sound like the practice and team for you, then we'd love to hear from you.

Locally owned practices with a world of support

At Vets for Pets we’re a network of practices that are owned and managed by the practice owners that run them. Because they’re locally owned, each practice has the freedom to serve patients and clients the way it thinks is best.

But crucially, being locally-owned also means enjoying a truly team-spirited atmosphere. We want all our colleagues to build lasting relationships with practice owners and team members as well as patients and clients.

And because we’re also part of a wider group, you’ll get all the support you need when you need it. That means state-of-the-art facilities, high quality CPD, financial stability and a real sense of job security.

With our framework, we’ve made it simpler and easier for you to help patients and clients live happier, healthier lives together. It’s about making the most of your expertise and bringing this to life in practise while being safe in the knowledge that you’re looked after too. Simply put, we offer locally owned practices with a world of support.

Flexibility & Wellbeing
You tell us which hours you want to work, and we’ll do everything we can to make it happen. With us, you could enjoy a better work-life balance where flexibility and wellbeing come first.

Training & Development
We offer great training programmes, plus fully funded CPD, leadership courses and access to our group’s learning curriculum. We’ll also support you if you’re interested in owning a practice. With our wealth of resources, it’s easy to build your skills and develop your career.

Local Practices
With us, no two practices are the same. We’re deeply rooted in our local communities and we want you to really get to know your patients and clients locally.

Being part of the Pets At Home Group
Being part of Vets for Pets means you’ll be part of our network of locally owned practices. Our practices are located across the country and are owned and run by our Joint Venture Partners (JVPs). Our Joint Venture Partnership model is unique and gives everyone the best of both worlds. Working within one of our practices you’ll get to work with the JVP who has the clinical freedom and autonomy to do things their own way.

As we’re part of a large respected organisation you’ll also enjoy the benefits of being part of a wider PLC Group. This means we can give you greater stability and job security during these uncertain times and beyond.

What’s more, we’ve worked hard to make sure everyone in our group can take part in a fun, friendly, professional and inclusive culture that allows you to bring your whole self to work and be at your very best.
