The Practice
Blue Cross hospitals provide veterinary treatment for animals belonging to those people whose financial circumstances do not allow them to afford private veterinary fees. The range of work carried out is similar to that in private practice. We offer a high-quality working environment with extensive onsite facilities including digital X-Ray, ultrasound, and endoscopy
The Role
We have 2 vacancies for Veterinary Surgeons, one at our Hammersmith animal hospital and one covering all three of our London animal hospitals. Applicants must be MRCVS and have demonstrable experience in a small animal practice. The roles are a 40-hour standard working week, with paid lunch breaks. Our Hammersmith and Merton hospitals are open Monday to Friday with overnight inpatient care being provided by a dedicated night team at our Victoria hospital. All of our vets take part in a shared OOH rota (evening and weekend day shifts).
The Salary
From £40,661 to £51,470 plus £3,954 London Weighting Allowance
Successful Candidate
You will have a caring attitude to animals and owners and will be able to communicate well with colleagues and clients, with a natural affinity for all aspects of practical animal care and the ability to work in a team. In addition to dealing with emergency and routine clinical and surgical work as directed by the Chief Veterinary Surgeon, you will be able to confident in dealing with emergency and critical care cases as part of the out-of-hours rota.
What is required?
We are looking for people with the following:
• Member of Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons
• Demonstrable small animal or mixed practice experience
• Sole charge experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
It would also be great if you had:
• UK small animal or mixed practice experience
• UK driving licence
