The role:

We have an exciting opportunity at our Whitchurch Practice in Shropshire for a full-time Head Registered Veterinary Nurse

Strong mentorship and support will be available to help you develop your career and get the most satisfaction from your role. You will have the opportunity to form part of a community of Head nurses, a platform whose activity promotes the sharing of ideas and suggestions with other head nurses within the region.

Clinical coach experience would be desirable, with a passion to support and develop future student nurses whilst leading by example. You will be fully supported within your move and we will offer full management training through our dedicated in-house Head Veterinary Nurse development program.

As an RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse, you’ll already have good knowledge of how a dynamic, practice runs efficiently and effectively. Sharing our values of being trustworthy, caring and progressive, you’ll also take the initiative in patient welfare and have caring, thoughtful communication skills. Just as important are the leadership skills essential to enabling your team to work as one and look ahead to see how they can be even better.

This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week with 1:3 Saturdays working at both our Wem and Whitchurch branches.

Salary & Benefits:

  • - Salary £32,500 per annum
  • - Generous CPD allowance and in-house CPD available
  • - Enhanced maternity and paternity leave
  • - Ongoing training is provided as relevant to your role
  • - RCVS and VDS fees paid
  • - 25 days paid annual leave plus bank holidays
  • - Exclusive company discounts and rewards
  • - A friendly, supportive environment within a rewarding role

Branch:

Our Whitchurch branch is in the northernmost market town in Shropshire sitting on the borders of south Cheshire and Wales. The town is in a beautiful countryside setting 20 miles from Shrewsbury, Chester, and Wrexham.

The practice itself is a converted house with separate cat/dog kennels, a new ultrasound, two consulting rooms, a large prep room, and a separate theatre. This is an exciting time to join the team as the practice is lined up for a full refurbishment and re-brand this year. The practice is looking for a head nurse to work alongside our friendly team of two RVNs, two student nurses a lead vet, and two part-time vets.
