Here at St Clair Vets we have a busy caseload and provide a full range of routine primary care services & specialist services in ophthalmology referral and ancillary treatments like acupuncture all across 4 sites. We are a progressive, well-equipped practice in Kirkcaldy that’s been at the very heart of our local community for many years. We take pride in providing a caring, compassionate, and friendly service to all our clients and their precious pets.

As a Veterinary Surgeon at St Clair Vets your role will be a varied one and your working week will include a good mixture of surgery and consultations. We care for all small animals, wildlife, some exotics and even the odd seal! You will see a variation of routine, preventative and more advanced cases during your working week and you will have the opportunity to work between our sites which will offer you different paces & caseloads. If mentoring is something you enjoy we have lots of opportunity to mentor & support our more recently graduated team members too.

As a group we are well equipped and have an extensive range of surgical and diagnostic equipment available which includes in-house biochemistry / haematology machines, operating microscopes, digital x-ray, ultrasound, video endoscope plus all the usual toys! You will be supported by our large dedicated Vet team, experienced clinical directors, wonderful experienced nurses and a fantastic front of house team. Our team are important to us and you will feel supported at St Clair Vets. We all pull together through the hard times but equally enjoy each others company and are never short of humour. We have a big focus on mental health and work life balance too. We often discuss clinical cases and when possible we do often attend socialising events.

Professional development is something we encourage at St Clair’s and we would be happy to consider supporting certificates where possible. Our varied caseload means we have been able to welcome & support many certificate holders over the years. In our team we currently have Certificate holders or Vets studying towards certs in; ECC, surgery, ophthalmology, internal medicine and more. We do have a small exotics caseload that we would be keen to consider increasing and welcome Vets with Exotic certificates/interests. We would also be open to supporting consultation only roles. On top of your personal CPD allowance, you will also have access to the wider Linnaeus team of referral specialists for further support and CPD.

We are happy to be part of Linnaeus Group with almost 180 sites across the UK and Ireland. We are part of a growing community of like-minded veterinary professionals who are passionate about what they do. Linnaeus Group is proud to be a part of the Mars Veterinary Health family of veterinary practices which extends our network of 2,500 veterinary clinics and hospitals in over 20 countries making industry-leading pet care available to more than 25 million plus pets every year.

St Clair Veterinary Group is situated on the beautiful Fife coast with a number of picturesque fishing villages only a short drive away and many outdoor pursuits right on your doorstep. Plus, if you need the buzz of a capital city, you’ll be in Edinburgh in 40 minutes. So we really do have the best of both worlds! The cost of living is relatively good locally too and our nearest airport is just a 30 minute drive away.

The right candidates for our roles will be Veterinary Surgeons who feel comfortable with most or all first opinion duties. We are flexible with shift patterns as we value the importance of a work life balance.
