For the right candidate, we can be flexible on hours per week and days per week. Usually, our pattern is 1.5 weekends in 4, with 1-2 nights on call per week. Ideally, we are looking for a mixed vet to fill this post, however we will consider a small animal vet too.

We are fully equipped to consult and operate in both clinics daily, with equipment including digital x-ray equipment, im3 dental machines, and idexx laboratories. Company

Established over 80 years ago, Abbey Vets originally began as a 2 person farm animal practice in Forfar. Over the years the practice has developed and is now a busy farm and companion animal practice. In 1997 the practice expanded and opened a second full time clinic in Arbroath.

Our clinics are located centrally within Forfar and Arbroath and have 24 hour, off road parking facilities. We provide a range of services at both our clinics including – consultations, weight clinics, vaccinations, surgery, radiography, ultrasound, blood testing and out of hours work. We operate a fixed rota to ensure continuity of care for our clients.

We carry out daily large animal calls from both clinics and although our companion animal sector has grown over the years, our large animal work still plays a large part in our day to day practice life – often involving acute, emergency situations!

At Abbey Vets we pride ourselves on our close knit team who work together to ensure the health and happiness of each of our clients. Many of our staff have been with us for a number of years and have built up a personal relationship with many of the clients. They are involved in a number of local activities and events to do with animal care and welfare within the community and are always happy to answer any questions you may have.
