Head Veterinary Nurse - Godalming, Surrey

The Role

We are looking for a capable and effective Head Veterinary Nurse to provide gold standard care to our patients and clients. You will be required to undertake general nursing duties including inpatient care, anaesthesia and nurse clinics as well as providing support and leadership to our nursing team. There will be additional management tasks including rotas, organisation of twice yearly stocktake and ensuring that all nursing protocols are maintained and complied with.

The position is 40 hours comprising: 35 hours during the week between the hours of 7:00am-20:00pm and 1:3 weekends. You may be required to work additional night time out-of-hours to provide holiday or absence cover. 

Salary up to £34,000 per annum depending on experience.

About Us

We are an RCVS accredited small animal hospital with our own dedicated out of hours service. We work to extremely high standards of patient care, with separate cat and dog wards, in-house laboratory, and laparoscopic equipment.

Team and Culture

We have 8 Veterinary Surgeons, 6 Registered Veterinary Nurses plus students and nursing support. We have cardiology referral clinician with a cardiology certificate. We also have an Out of Hours vet with an ECC certificate. We have a friendly, supportive team who work closely together, for example with inclusive ward rounds three times a day to ensure the best patient care.

 Applicant Requirements

We are looking for a qualified RVN preferably with some supervisory experience, who is eager to lead our nursing team by demonstrating role model behaviour in providing nursing care to our patients. We need a strong communicator, supportive nature, and a positive can-do attitude to all tasks.
