** Exciting Opportunity ** - Exotic Veterinary Surgeon Vacancy

My client in the Derbyshire area is looking for an experienced veterinary surgeon with an exotic certificate, or training towards one, to join their team in their state of the art veterinary practice.

The practice is a progressive veterinary practice, fully equipped with all the usual toys plus laparoscopic surgical kit and CO2 laser. They treat both small animals and exotic species (first opinion and referrals). Currently a 9 vet practice, most of which hold certificates or are studying towards one and so they enjoy a collaborative approach to cases.

With this in mind you should be happy to take part in clinical case discussions however, you must be capable of working independently too. There are 10 qualified RVNs and a client care team that are on hand to help support you in the day to day running of the practice.

The practice push a supportive culture and equally divide the workload. The clients are at the forefront of what this practice do and so my client encourages a bond built on mutual trust and respect. This extends into the team too and in return my clients strives to ensure a fair and effective work life balance is met in order to ensure time off is just that, time off.

The Role

There is a large and varied case load of both medical and surgical cases and duties are split between consulting, operating, work ups, inpatient care and out of hours duties. The client base is split between reptiles, avian and small furries in addition to small animals.  They also look after two local wildlife parks.

Sole charge will be required during out of hours. MY client run 30minute initial exotic consults and 15-minute follow-ups as standard to enable them to provide an excellent service to the clients and provide an exceptional standard of care to the patients. Postgraduate studies in all areas are encouraged and supported.

•    Competitive Salary (£40,000 - £70,000) but can be negotiated dependant on experience.

•    4-day week with one day off

•    1:6 weekends (week after 1/2-day Monday and Friday off)
