LOCATION OF THE JOB

The position will be based at my clients head office in Hertfordshire, with the option to work in a hybrid capacity after a probationary period.

THE MAJOR PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The overall purpose of the role will be to assist the Marketing Manager with all aspects of marketing plan implementation in line with company objectives and to feed down projects and day-to-day operations to the Marketing Executive/Assistants.

Examples include:

  • Maintaining brand consistency (including Tone of Voice, design and key messages) across all communication channels and throughout the Company.
  • Driving traditional and digital marketing initiatives aimed at increasing awareness and sales to both B2C and B2B clients.
  • Representing the company and the values in interactions with colleagues, partners and customers.

KEY RESULT AREAS

Supporting the Marketing Manager, you’ll be at the heart of driving marketing campaigns. A fundamental part of the company’s marketing efforts, you'll be expected to be involved at a strategic level. While your job role will include administrative duties such as answering customer queries and creating promotional materials, you will act to filter down the overall marketing objectives into everyday tasks to be completed by the team.

This job is full of variety, and you’ll need to be able to turn your hand to B2C and B2B marketing of a wide array of products across the veterinary industry.

  • Give strategic input to the Marketing Manager regarding the implementation and tracking of campaigns, in line with the overall Marketing objectives.
  • Act as the point of escalation for queries that come into the Marketing or company inboxes when help is requested by the Marketing Assistant/Executive.
  • Manage the day-to-day strategies for the maintenance of the company’s social media presence on platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Linkedin and Youtube, as well as investigating new opportunities to increase their online presence.
  • Help to maintain and update content on all online platforms.
  • Closely monitor third-party review sites and maintain marketing records, contacting customers where necessary and inviting customers to leave a review.
  • Coordinate monthly e-newsletters and B2B news mailings, reporting the results of each campaign.
  • Develop close working relationships with relevant digital agencies to assist the marketing manager in maximising ROI on these partnerships.
  • Design and amend marketing collateral for online and print where necessary using Adobe Suite in accordance with the brand guidelines, including leaflets, posters and flyers.
  • Liaise with the Regulatory Affairs Manager to ensure all materials are fully compliant and in line with all Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) principles.
  • Conduct marketing research where necessary.
  • Create documented processes for marketing activities.
  • Assist the Marketing Manager in producing entries for business awards.
  • Assist the Marketing Manager with event planning including B2B events, open days and company events.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to direct colleagues in line with the company strategy.
  • Strong passion to learn and achieve success.
  • Strong understanding of computer software packages including: MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Good communication and copywriting skills, including excellent spelling and grammar.
  • A solid understanding of SEO best practice.
  • An ability to use spreadsheets to analyse data and identify trends. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) a necessity.
  • An understanding of Content Management Systems (such as WordPress) would be an advantage.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A-level standard.
  • Bachelor Degree in Marketing or Marketing Certificate/ Diploma would be an advantage.

TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE

  • Understanding of Animal Health and/or Pet Insurance Industry an advantage.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • At least three years’ experience in a Marketing/Digital Marketing role.
  • Experience leading marketing projects from start to finish.

KEY RELATIONSHIPS

Internal

  • Ensuring the Marketing team works in a cohesive manner.
  • Communicating results of marketing initiatives to the wider team.
  • Providing information to the Sales Team and answering their queries
  • Participation in brainstorming discussions and implementation of projects.
  • Working with the Regulatory Affairs Manager to ensure compliance with the FCA and other regulatory bodies.

External

  • Targeting suitable Veterinary Groups for SEO link building.
  • Maintaining communication channels with Veterinary Groups, establishing consistency in tone of voice and communication messages.
  • Briefing Digital Marketing Agencies on projects such as website design.
  • Obtaining quotes from Printers and Designers.
