And you’ll do it all supported by your colleagues and some of the best training and development in the industry.

Join us where we’re building better every day.

The role:

This is quite an exciting and unique new role!

Are you looking for something different from the standard first opinion vet job role?

Looking for a new challenge?

Join our professional, personable team where you’ll deliver exceptional leadership and care to your colleagues and patients within a referral setting, ensuring they have the support and guidance to enable them to deliver outstanding levels of care, that are always there.

You will be working closely with our wonderful team of experienced nurses, alongside our board-certified specialists, resident, and interns in multiple disciplines, including diagnostic imaging, surgery, medicine, and dermatology, with access to CT, MRI, ultrasound, state of the art operating theatres, radioactive iodine, etc.

The referral centre has a dedicated night service, which offers out-of-hours cover to surrounding first opinion veterinary practices as well as continued care to hospitalised patients for our referral service.

As a qualified MRCVS, you’ll already have good experience gained in small animal practice. You’ll be competent in clinical examination and surgery and confident working in sole charge or as part of the wider team.

Sharing our values of being trustworthy, caring, and progressive, you will have all the softer skills essential to working effectively, building trusting relationships with your colleagues, and harnessing our one-team culture.

You will also display good communication and leadership skills

Key accountabilities:

  • - You will be responsible for organising the workday and coordinating the team in order to ensure efficient workflow.
  • - Handover of inpatients from the night service will be part of your duties, as well as being responsible forwards and supporting nurses in ongoing inpatient care.
  • - Assisting our resident and surgeon in the induction of anaesthesia and prep of patients for surgery.
  • - Work closely with our head veterinary nurse in coordinating the nursing team.
  • - Liaise with our specialists in guiding our interns and delegating clinical work as appropriate.

Skills and experience:

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of UK small animal practice (or UK equivalent) experience and be confident in their recommendations.
