The Role

Here at Scarsdale Vets Alfreton, we are looking for a Practice Nurse to join the team. We take pride in providing outstanding pet healthcare and this role enables us to do this at a local level in the community. We empower our nurses to use their nursing skills fully to help us achieve the best outcomes for our patients and to help our nurses continually develop their skills.

You will be involved in all theatre and imaging work, nurse clinics, general stock, maintenance, and promotion of the practice. Any out of hours work will be covered by our hospital site at Pride Park and this is where your internal training is likely to be held, with the UK’s most innovative veterinary equipment. This role can adjust to fit your career. If you want to learn about managing the practice yourself, we can help you, or if you prefer to concentrate on developing your nursing skills, we can help with that too. How involved in the leadership and running of the team you are is up to you! You can develop at your own pace and in the direction you want.

As one of the first to join the practice, you will be involved in creating the team and shaping the service, alongside the new Vets and nurse. This is an opportunity that doesn’t happen often!

This is a part-time role working 2 or 3 days per week between the opening hours of 8:30am at the earliest start, to 7:00pm as the latest finish. Plus, 1 in 4 Saturday mornings at our Langley Mill site. However, we are open to discussing flexible work patterns if required as our primary focus is ensuring we find the right person to join our team.
