Witham Centre

Powers Hall End, Witham, CM8 2HG

Spring Lodge Veterinary Hospital has been caring for animals in Witham for more than forty years, evolving from a chicken farm to a veterinary surgery in the 1950′s.

Since that time the practice has had three owners with the current owner Neil Hodson taking charge in 1992.

The main surgery at Witham gained hospital status in 1998 and has recently been re inspected and passed to ensure it still fulfils this title.

The practice has grown since 1992, from an existing staff of five to over 45 experienced members of staff. The Tiptree centre opened in 1997 and in 1999 the surgery in Great Notley Garden Village opened its doors. Spring Lodge took over the running of Mintern And Hill Vets, located in Chelmsford, in 2008.  Ingatestone Veterinary Centre is also part of the Spring Lodge Team and its purpose built centre opened in 2008.

Consultations take place at all branches. All surgical & medical cases requiring further treatment are either delt with on site or transferred to the main hospital in Witham via one of our veterinary ambulances.

There are eleven veterinary surgeons at Spring Lodge, five of which are working towards further qualifications in specialist subjects including surgery, dermatology, acupuncture and emergency and critical care. They are complemented by a team of twelve registered veterinary nurses and two student nurses. In addition we have patient care assistants to support the veterinary team. At each clinic we have dedicated veterinary receptionists who can assist and advise on how to keep you pet happy and in the best of health and of course a team of administrative staff to assist with the running of the clinics.

All members of the practice team are encouraged to continually develop their skills within the hospital through formal continuing professional development.

Our ‘out of hours’ care is provided by Vets Now Ltd.  They are an independent company who provide the equivalent of a pet A&E department for local practices  during the night and weekends.  We are lucky, as this service is run from our Witham Hospital so your animal can receive care 24 hours a day once it has been admitted to our Hospital.

Our aim is to provide a comprehensive service for all clients in a friendly and efficient manner.
