The Role

Alma Veterinary Hospital has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon, to join our team of dedicated vets and increase the services we offer to clients.

Our vets work a 4-day week FTE, there is a 1:6 weekend rota. On-call overnight is for inpatients in the Hospital. Vets Now are the OOHs provider and the phones go over to Vets Now at 7pm weekdays.  

This allows for the emergency calls during the night and any emergency cases to go to Vets Now but for Alma to keep any more stable inpatients in the clinic hospital where a nurse would follow the Vets care plan throughout the night. The nurse would only contact the vet should they have an urgent concern about an inpatient. If there was an inpatient that was deemed to require veterinary care throughout the night, a decision would be made to transfer to Vets Now. Alma has one nurse on site overnight and the emergency phones come over from Vets Now at 8am.

We are a reputable, small animal veterinary hospital based in the royal town of Windsor. We are located close to the M25, M3 & M4 and have excellent transport links to London and Heathrow. Windsor is a beautiful town, combining gorgeous countryside and a vibrant town centre all in one location. Our facilities have been recently refurbished and we are well equipped with all the usual toys including a fully equipped laboratory, brand new x-ray machine, dental x-ray, rigid and flexible endoscopes, a bronchoscope, ultrasound, dental suite, separate cat and dog wards, a cat waiting room and much more.

Applicant Requirements

Our ideal applicant will be an experienced vet and all-round surgeon. A specialist area/ certificate would be very appealing to our team. We are looking for a colleague who strives to provide gold standard veterinary care to their patients and clients.
