Veterinary Surgeon- Full Time- Worksop, Nottinghamshire

Here at Wildbore Vetstop we are looking to welcome an experienced Vet Surgeon to join our fantastic team.

  • Our full-time working weeks are 40 hours on average (including weekend hours)
  • We work just 1 in 6 weekends, finishing at 4:30pm both days.
  • We are open to full and part time applications & have the flexibility to offer the right rota for you.
  • No set OOH’s, although we do have a fair share of inpatient checks throughout the year.

Here at Wildbore Vetstop we are a Tier 3 RCVS veterinary hospital based in Worksop, and provide high standards of care and although our OOH’s service is covered by Vets Now, we offer fantastic 24-hour inpatient care. We’re also a friendly bunch of highly skilled professionals, who put the health and wellbeing of pets first.

We are a well-equipped practice with ultrasound, in house lab, CT scanner and more. We are recognised by International Cat Care as a Gold Level Cat Friendly Clinic for the special care and consideration we give to our feline patients.

We have a large Vet team with a variety of service & experience levels including certificate holders in medicine, surgery, feline medicine and more. We are also supported by a wonderful Nursing & front of house team. Retention and the well-being of our team is very important to us and we are delighted that some of our team members have been part of Wildbore Vetstop for over 25 years. We are a supportive team who like to share our knowledge and discuss clinical cases. We all have our own professional interests, and we are happy to support certificates where possible. We could also offer a fantastic role for an all-round GP Vet who enjoys case continuity and building great rapport with clients. We have a fantastic client base some of whom have been returning to us for many years.

Here at Wildbore Vetstop we predominantly care for small animals and do have a growing rabbit caseload. We see a good mixture of routine and advance surgeries / consultations. Your role will be varied, and your working week will include set surgery days, set inpatient/ routine op days, and set consulting days. You will only work 1 night a week late depending on the need for the evening. We have a growing oncology caseload too and would be able to support a surgeon with such interest.

We are happy to be part of Linnaeus Group with almost 180 sites across the UK and Ireland. We are part of a growing community of like-minded veterinary professionals who are passionate about what they do. To add, Linnaeus Group is proud to be a part of the Mars Veterinary Health family of veterinary practices which extends our network of 2,500 veterinary clinics and hospitals in over 20 countries making industry-leading pet care available to more than 25 million + pets every year. Together, we are able to provide the highest standards in pet care and achieve our collective Purpose: A BETTER WORLD FOR PETS.

Wildbore Vetstop are based in a perfect location with lots to enjoy in the great outdoors locally such as cycling, horse riding, walking and more. We are close to the peak district and Clumber park too. If you prefer to explore the local cities Sheffield is on our doorstep with lots to offer day and night and Nottingham & Doncaster are also easily accessible. Leeds/Bradford & Doncaster/Sheffield airport are both a short drive away.

This role would be fantastic for an experienced Surgeon who want to join a progressive practice who are committed to moving forward. There is the potential for future progression and the chance to mentor, if this is something you enjoy.

  • Generous salary up to £57,500 depending on experience, duties, and post graduate studies.
