Job Details
The Role
We are looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team here at Ayrton Vet Hospital on a full/part time basis. Our nursing team are fully utilised to their potential; offering a varied and challenging role which will include prep/theatre patient involvement (e.g., IV placement in all patients, blood taking, laboratory work, radiography, dentistry, and surgery assist). We also have designated ward rotation for improved in-patient care and routine consultation RVN clinics.
Rota
Working 37.5 hours per week (full time but part time hours also available)
Working across 3-5 days
OOH 1 night during the week (from 5:30pm – 8:30am on call and only need to go into clinic if there are inpatients in clinic, vet is also on call)
1:5 weekends OOH (Saturday 8:30am-5pm)
As of Late summer 2022, there will be no OOH at this practice as it will switch over to Vets Now. However, in the meantime there is the following on call rota.
1 shift per week from 5:30pm-8:30am on call with phone only and to cover inpatient care, with an option of staying on site when on call as accommodation is available.
Salary
Up to £30,000 negotiable D.O.E.
Relocation package of up to £5,000

We have a beautiful, light, purpose-designed, spacious building to work in. Located between the cultural and historical cities of Glasgow and Edinburgh. Great colleagues, a nursing team which is fully utilised and supported with VNAs. We are a training practice with excellent facilities and equipment - digital X-ray, latest laboratory equipment, Sevoflurane and Humphrey ADE anaesthesia.
Applicant Requirements
Must be a qualified veterinary nurse and on the RCVS register. The successful applicant will need to be competent in monitoring anaesthetics, venepuncture, taking/processing radiographs, performing routine lab procedures and providing care for hospitalised patients. We fully support and fund additional certification.
