Clevedale Veterinary Practice is an independent mixed animal practice on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors, perfectly situated for exploring the beautiful North Yorkshire coastline, whether that be walking, surfing or cycling.

We are a team of over 18 vets and 16 incredible RVNs/SVNs spanning 3 practices, Redcar (Upleatham), Stokesley & Whitby, catering for all animals large and small.

We are looking for another two vets to join our expanding team, with a small animal and a farm animal position available with the view to combine both if you want the best of both worlds! At Clevedale we have a range of experienced colleagues, including certificate holders, previous new graduates, and vets that have been with us for numerous years. Our practice is very social with a strong, supportive, and welcoming team.  Therefore, we would love to welcome a highly motivated new graduate or experienced vet wanting a change in career.

We are committed to help support you, as a new graduate transitioning from student to vet. We feel you would benefit from our wide and varied caseload whilst having the opportunity to be supported by one of our many experienced vets. We have trained VET GDP advisors so new graduates will have a senior vet mentor with a tailored development programme.

The job:

Small animal:

The small animal day is from 8.30am – 6pm (with one 7pm finish), morning consults are until around 10.30am then EVERY VET has operating time and lunch until consults start again at 2.30pm. This means that you get chance to operate and develop your surgery and imaging skills daily and breaks up the day. No-one consults all day. New graduates will not be required to do sole charge and will have extended consult times.
The position is full-time, to include a 4 day working week, 1 in 4 Saturday’s (until 2pm), NO OOH AND NO BANK HOLIDAYS.

Farm animal:

We are looking for an eager new graduate wanting to get stuck into our busy farm animal practice. The working day is from 8.30am till 5pm with your day guaranteed to be varied; we have a wide range of farms from large scale dairy, beef/sheep to small holdings and Alpacas. After covid we are getting back into hosting regular farmers meetings and have a specific flock health programme run by our two sheep CertAVP holders.

We are looking for a for a full-time vet to include a 4 day working week with a share in out of hours (1 in 4), OOH will be following a senior vet until you are happy.

Mixed Animal:

Can’t decide between small and large? Why should you! If you are keen to continue to develop your skills in all fields, then you can join one of our many mixed vets that still love the variety it brings!
The job would be a split of 2 small animal days and 2 farm days, to include a share of either the OOH farm work or small animal Saturdays. This would be a 50/50 split; however, if you are looking for a more weighted farm to small (or vice versa) job this could be considered.
