Job Details

We are seeking a Head Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our friendly team at Medivet Kenton in North West London.

We can also consider a confident 3rd year SVN, soon to qualify!

We encourage growth within your role and are truly committed to help our Medivet community achieve their goals.

We offer clear Head Nurse career pathways, tailored by you to suit your individual needs as well as collective support with tips and tricks across the whole of Medivet and online learning which you can manage at your own pace.

So whether you're an established HVN or taking the first step into a management role, you will have access to further training and support with all the tools to continue your professional development.

Salary and hours:

  • Salary up to £32,615 per annum depending on experience
  • Hours 40 per week with 1:6 weekends
  • Fair share of bank holiday cover with TOIL and minimal on-call duties
  • £300 CPD allowance with 2-days CPD leave
  • RCVS, VDS and BVNA membership fees
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Improved Maternity and Paternity Leave
  • Exclusive company discounts and rewards
  • Access to the Employee Assistance Programme
  • Additional benefits, including 100% attendance scheme and ‘Peternity’ leave

Key accountabilities:

In this role you will assist with financial and operational performance of your practice as well as the overall team performance and engagement.

You'll take pride in the delivery of exceptional clinical quality and care, encouraging a progressive clinical culture. And, ensure Medivet policies and procedures are implemented and adhered to by all of your team.

You'll work closely with the Lead Vet as well as our wider teams to ensure the general smooth running of your practice, from Practice Standards to Health & Safety, and ensure things such as debt is managed and controlled and any complaints are dealt with appropriately.

As a Head Nurse you will support your direct reports, holding one to ones and providing regular feedback on their performance. Clinical Coach experience would be ideal but happy to provide training with this if needed.

From time to time you may need to assist your Area Manager with recruitment by meeting potential new team members during a practice visit, as well as taking action to create a positive environment that results in stable retention for your branch.

Branch:

Medivet Kenton is a busy 1-vet branch with a nursing team made up of the HRVN (that's you!) SVN and PCA. The practice has fantastic potential and room for further growth!

We have a varied caseload and offers acupuncture as an alternative form of treatment!  We also have the support from our Hendon 24-Hour Hospital which is just a short drive away.

The hospital provides access to state-of-the-art equipment, housing an MRI/CT unit and treating many interesting neurology, medicine, surgical and other cases. Plus endoscopy, arthroscopy, digital x-ray, ultrasound, multi-parameter monitors, in-house bloods.

Hendon manages all out of hour care for the region with a dedicated night team! And, the group is supported by it's own pet blood bank and laboratory.
