The Role

Are you looking to start to expand your knowledge in management without having to leave the animals behind? Do you enjoy being a GP vet, but are getting bogged down in the long hours? We can help! If you are looking for a position where you can demonstrate and utilise your knowledge and skills whilst still getting ample time to yourself then we might be the people for you.

No OOH duties, and a culture actively directed towards avoiding burnout. If you feel you are able to help to support a small team to develop the branch then we would be excited to talk to you. Our friendly and approachable management team will be delighted to chat and we are open to negotiations about terms.

Here at South Wales Vets we are looking for a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to join our team. General duties will include First opinion consultations, surgery (General Operations and Emergency), Medical work ups and more.

The rota will be 4 days per week (8.30-7.00), 1:4 Saturdays (9.00-5.00).

The Salary is up to £60,000 DOE

About Us

We are a multisite small animal practice offering a high level of patient care and customer service. We have a range of high spec equipment including digital radiography, ultrasound, capnography. We are going through an exciting renovation project to expand our workspace and upgrade our facilities.

South Wales Vets have an excellent team of Veterinary Surgeons, Registered Veterinary Nurses and receptionists that are supported by our practice management and clinical director teams. Our Vets are experienced and skilled in orthopaedics, internal medicine and surgery, they are also supported by a wonderful and caring team of Nurses and Student Nurses that provide amazing care to our patients.

The branch is located in lovely town of Blackwood which is in easy commute location of the valleys, Cardiff and Newport. We are very close the to the Brecon Beacons and the South Wales Coast.
Applicant Requirements

We are looking for a Veterinary Surgeon with at least 1 year experience in small animal practice. The ideal candidate should be confident in first opinion consultations, both routine and emergencies. They must also be able to perform routine neuters and basic emergency surgery competently and unassisted.
