The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon at Foxcotte Veterinary Group!

The role can be either consulting only or a mix of consulting and operating. The vet will oversee their own cases as well as sharing caseloads with other team members. This role will be ideal for a vet who is comfortable with sole charge at our branch surgeries and is happy to help and support our younger vets.

At Foxcotte we pride ourselves on flexibility within our vet rota and we are happy to accept both part time and full-time applicants. FT hours are 38.5 hours per week, working across 4/4.5 days. You will be required to work Saturday mornings 8-12 on a 1:4 rota, plus one 10 pm check on a Friday, on a 1:8 rota, other than this there is no out of hours work.

The salary for this role is up to £45,000 depending on experience.

About Us
We have a total of 3, recently refurbished branches, our main branch in Charlton, Andover; our Ludgershall branch which runs consults and operations and our Whitchurch branch, which is consult only.

Our Charlton practice comprises of 5 consult rooms, a separate dog and cat waiting area, dedicated ultrasound room, prep room, x-ray room, 2 theatres, dog kennels, cat ward and isolation ward. Charlton has the usual toys including new ultrasound, digital x-ray, dental x-ray, endoscopy and an in-house lab.

Ludgershall has 2 consulting rooms, separate dog and cat waiting areas, a prep/theatre area and dog and cat wards. We are very fortunate to have a dental x-ray, in-house lab and ultrasound. All 3 branches sit within a stone’s throw from the countryside, but also have fantastic links to London (on the train) and the coast within 1hr 30mins. As well as easy access to the West Country and Wales (both within 2hrs drive. Our team has a real family feel to it, all our staff support each other which has been so important over the past 18 months with growing expectations from clients.

We have had a stable team for a few years now which we really pride ourselves on.

About the Team and Culture
We have 11 veterinary surgeons who make up 8 FTE roles. The vet team has a vast amount of experience across all fields and are very supportive of one another. We have multiple certificate holders within the vet team in dermatology, small animal medicine, acupuncture and Western Herbal Medicine.

Our nursing team comprises of 10 RVNs, many of whom have trained at Foxcotte as we are proud to be a training practice. We also have 2 SVNs and 1 ACA.

Our support team comprises of 11 members of the team who make life easier for all by managing all non-clinical aspects of the practice.

We are very fortunate to have a cardiologist hold clinics with us once a month, and also work alongside a wonderful physiotherapist who has clinics at our branch surgeries 3-4 times a week.

We hope the ideal candidate will bring with them their own personality and area of interest to help expand the Foxcotte range of services. We are keen to support any future development in the form of CPDs and certificates.

As a practice we like to promote good mental wellbeing, holding practice gatherings 3-4 times a year including summer BBQs, Christmas parties, Easter egg hunts and even theatre trips!

We also like to support both local and national charities, for example, MacMillan cake morning, Christmas jumper day, food bank donations to mention a few.

Applicant Requirements
We would like to invite applications from veterinary surgeons who are comfortable in general practice and able to work up and treat a wide variety of conditions from the routine, through to the slightly weird and wonderful which we seem to attract!

We welcome individuals who would like to operate and consult but are equally happy to receive applications for individuals who are keen to only consult.

Ideally, we would like a candidate who has a desire to extend their skillset and grow within their chosen area.

A team player is a must, a good sense of humour and good baking skills would be great too!
