Park Vet Group were established over 100 years ago and are a multi-site, primary care, small animal, and farm animal group of practices spread across Leicestershire. With sites in Whetstone, Glenfield, Saffron Lane & Scraptoft Lane. All of our sites are self-sufficient and are fully equipped. Our satellite sites run independently and see their own varied caseloads. We also have a referral interests in, diagnostic imaging, ophthalmology, orthopaedics, small animal surgery and a dedicated emergency hospital service, 24-hours a day at the Glenfield hospital.

Our Whetstone site is one of our larger sites and has a team of 8 Vet Surgeons. There is a variety of experience levels and professional areas of interests across our Vet team. The Vet team is also supported by a fantastic, large, nursing and front of house team too.

Our Whetstone site is a Silver ISFM cat friendly clinic and is very well equipped with ultrasound, x-ray, dental machine, dental x-ray, endoscope, theatre and more. We are able to support certificates at our Whetstone branch and see a varied and advanced caseload. A member of the Vet team does have a cardiology interest, so heart scans are often performed at the site too. Working at our Whetstone site means that you can build fantastic rapport with local clients and case continuity is encouraged. Being a larger, self-sufficient site, you will be able to see the majority of cases through rather than always needing to refer to our hospital premises and you will see a good, advanced surgical and varied caseload.

Park Vet group really are a community focused group of practices and we have a wonderful client base, some of whom have been visiting us for many years. Building great rapport with our clients and caring for pets as if they were our own, is very important to us.

As an associate at Park Vet Group, you will be joining a friendly and enthusiastic, large, team of vets across our sites (including certificate holders in Imaging, surgery, and advanced practitioners in ophthalmology. We also have two surgeons studying towards medicine certificates.) Across the group we also have an experienced nursing team (including two surgical diploma holders) & a wonderful front of house team too who support us daily. Here at park vet group, we do offer some fantastic referral, OOH’s, and advanced services, but we equally champion our GP Vets and the fantastic service we can offer for routine and first opinion caseloads also.

As a team we often discuss clinical cases and have monthly team meetings to share knowledge and communications. We often work closely with Willows, a local referral site, to run additional in house CPD events. We run a journal club and enjoy socialising events outside of work too, when possible. It is fair to say that we all get on well as a team and enjoy our working days together. We have a real team spirit, and any new associates will be warmly welcomed.

Our variety of experience levels means that we have been able to offer a fantastic new graduate programme that offers great support. We are a training practice and work closely with local universities & training colleges too. We therefore have plenty of opportunity for mentoring if this is something you enjoy.

There is also the opportunity to work a week at our hospital site on a rota basis, should you wish.

In your spare time, there is lots to enjoy locally. Park Vet Group is based in the wonderful city of Leicester which is the largest city in the East Midlands. Leicester is aa modern city steeped in years of history and there is lots to do locally whether you enjoy the great outdoors/countryside or prefer the Hustle and bustle of the city. Company

We can trace the roots of the practice back over 100 years in the days when the vet visited using a pony and trap and went as far afield as Coventry.

Over the years the practice has grown from a one branch practice, to having a dedicated farm practice, 4 pet surgeries that are spread across Leicestershire, a Referral Service and a dedicated Emergency Service open 24/7.

Our aim always remains the same: to provide the highest quality of care for pets for a prolonged and happy life. We have always employed highly trained, caring, compassionate and approachable staff using facilities to achieve just this.
