The Role

Here at Mill House Veterinary Surgery & Hospital, we are looking for a Deputy Clinical Director to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the management and leadership of the site and staff in addition to a clinical caseload.

The rota involves working 38 hours per week over 4 to 5 days. The days can be negotiable, and out-of-hours is included on a reduced rota basis.

The salary is up to £80,000 depending on experience.

About Us

Our practice first opened in King’s Lynn in 1984, moving to our current premises in 1990. Our multi-award-winning small animal Veterinary Hospital is accredited by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) and we have been accredited as ‘Outstanding’ in all six of the RCVS awards. We are also an ISFM Gold Standard Cat-Friendly practice. Situated just 90 minutes from London with easy transport routes by train, and close to the beautiful North Norfolk Coast, our success reflects our good diagnostic work-up and treatment, communication, and client care.

Our high specification of both facilities and equipment help us support professional development including; Storz video endoscopy and otoscopy, laparoscopy, vascular sealing device and harmonic scalpel, digital radiography, a new CT scanner, fully equipped dental suite, colour-flow doppler ultrasound, capnography & ventilators, slit lamp, and in-house laboratory.

We have 6 Advanced Practitioners and certificate holders in; Small Animal Medicine, Emergency and Critical Care, Ophthalmology, and Small Animal Surgery, and you will be supported by an experienced and friendly team. We also have 17 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 9 Student Veterinary Nurses, and 16 Support staff. We share expertise day to day in ward rounds, case reflection meetings, and at regular in-house training sessions to ensure excellence in our clinical standards and continual development. Applicant Requirements

Managerial experience preferred, this could be from a previous role as a Clinical Director in a small practice or as a Senior Veterinary Surgeon. You must be able to support and guide a full range of staff from new graduates to very experienced Vets.

David and Carole Clarke started the practice in King Street, King’s Lynn in 1984. By 1990, the practice had moved to a newly-built centre here at Mill House. We see cats, dogs and other small animals only, and provide a high level of service at reasonable cost, with staff all committed to excellent pet care. Not all Vet Surgeries are Hospitals. Our multi-award winning Veterinary Hospital is accredited by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) . Keeping pets healthy is a priority, and our Vet Health Advisors (VHAs) offer free health care advice throughout the day, and help individually with weight loss programmes, special diets, dental and diabetic care, and well pet checks. They also hold early puppy training sessions at Puppy Socialisation classes. As well as our normal work, we see referral cases from other vets in Radiology, Ultrasound, Endoscopy and General Medicine and Surgery, Laparoscopy, Dermatology (skin problems) and Acupuncture.
