The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our team here at Mearley Veterinary Group!
 
We are a group of three surgeries (1 consult only) offering predominantly small animal and equine first opinion care. We have a varied caseload, and no two days are the same! Although we do have an equine caseload this would be your choice to, or not to, be involved with. We see a good mixture of small animal consultations and surgeries including routine, preventative care and some ECC, we even see some wildlife from time to time.

Rota and Salary

•    We offer a competitive salary depending on experience! 
•    Full and part time applications considered. 
•    No OOH’s 
•    Just 1 weekend in 5 Saturday (9.30-1.30) and Sunday (10-1) 
•    4.5 days per week. 
•    8 hour shifts per day, on a rota basis between 9am & 7pm.

We see a good mixture of small animal consultations and surgeries including routine, preventative care and some ECC, we even see some wildlife from time to time. Our sites are well maintained, and the buildings are light and spacious. The practice is RCVS accredited and clinical standards are exceptionally high. 
 
We are also very proud to be a nurse training practice. Our two main sites are well equipped with full diagnostic and surgical facilities, incorporating in house lab, diagnostic ultrasound, digital radiography, dental machines and endoscopy. We have a really wonderful client base. One of our amazing clients makes us the most delicious homemade cakes every two weeks. How lucky are we! Work/life balance is important to us and our team, so we offer a great rota. During your spare time there is lots for you to enjoy locally! We are based in a picturesque location making outdoor activities such as dog walking, hiking, running or horse riding even more enjoyable! If you prefer the bigger cities, we are also located next to great link roads to Manchester and Yorkshire. A good sense of humour and team spirit is essential.
 

About the Team and Culture

Here at Mearley Vets we have a wonderful team, a fantastic client base and we work from bright, spacious practices! Our team is made up of 2 Clinical Directors, 4 Veterinary Surgeons, 5 RVN’s, 2 Student nurses, 1 VCA & 14 Admin and support staff. We appreciate every member of our team, and we are close knit group. We are all really supportive and we enjoy our working days together and staff nights out! Our team members all have their own interests from equine, small animal surgery and exotics. One of our vets has a certificate in radiography, and another vet is hoping to start an exotics certificate shortly. We are keen to support professional development.
 

Applicant Requirements

Qualifications required MRCVS. We welcome applications from experienced vets, but we would also be happy to support a new graduate or vet wanting career development. Full time or part time will be considered. A good sense of humour and team spirit is essential!
